Well, it means *Disney's* copyright is extended, right? I mean, you have to qualify for the extension. And of course you and me and Joe Blow won't be able to do this.
Although, to be honest, even if we did create anything, we'd be RIAA/MPAA/etc whores, and the copyright wouldn't belong to us anyway.
You know, there's a reason why there's the saying, "looking out for the little people". Why the Supreme Court think they need to look out for the big people is beyond me.
I can't wait for the AT&TExxonGMTimeWarnerAOL merger to go through. 2004 maybe.
Who needs competition anyway.
What's the big deal? Just check out your DVD brand name & model number at vcdhelp.com and find out how to hack your DVD player to be region free.
I use the word 'hack' very liberally. Many times, it's just a few buttons on the remote.
While you're at it, desable Macrovision, and if you're in the market to buy a DVD player, use that site so that you buy a DVD player that plays SVCD's... thus allowing you to skip the whole buying DVD's-to-replace your VHS collection.
I agree.
I have ALWAYS liked Player-killer muds. But I do realize the flaw for abuse in them. So what would be nice is to have guards in the city that can "see" actions from a room or two away at least. Attack a character... means being attacked by nasty guards.
Then other pats of the world could be more dangerous with the lack of guards. You could even hire guards to escort you through the dark Mirkwood Forrest known to be rife with PK'ers.
It's hard to believe that a company with bad stocks, and people are crying doom & gloom can make this kind of announcment. Do you think they'll deal with the DRM bit? Will the telivision stations start suing them again?
Oh yea, sum up a billion dollar company in a couple sentences.
At least their failures are still more amazing than all of your accomplishments put together.
Which means that years from now I will still be listening to stuff I bought this year. And I am still listening to things I bought years ago. $15 for 15+ years of enjoyment. Not what I would call a rip-off.
To the RIAA, you're ripping them off. They demand that you continue to spend even more in their products each year. They also dislike the fact that they can't make you pay-per-play, and are quite disgruntled that you will be "stealing" money from them for 15 years by only buying their product once.

Was the editor being sarcastic?

Or in a virtual world....
Mame hunt??
I mean it's one thing to continue development of a package on whatever OS you had picked. But to actually switch OS's and pick this one....?

You just gotta love these release numbers2.1a

Meanwhile... another story gets published without reading the source. Since they don't specify the site, I'm assuming this was Slashdot.
Compared to what? Deciding now before it ever comes out?
Thank you sir, may I have another
What does car parts have to do with slashdot, and computers?
Time to watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley" again!!
I didn't know that the IDE cable, and interface is what "slowed" IDE hard drives down?
Can an adapter and SCSI cabling really make my Maxtor 5400RPM go 160MB/second?

But if you dont' remember watching a movie... isnt' it time to watch it again?
Wow, that's scary. All that is there now is 7 reviews maxed out at 5 stars, all praising the cult^H^H^H^Hkook
No kidding. Just check out the reviews for the stupidest movie ever: Jay & Bob Strike Back.
Unless of course, you ARE G. Cook! :(
Sad, huh?
By the way, I wizzed on 3 muds, finished Pitfall 2 with a perfect score, flipped Atari's QBert 4 times, and maxed out the score on Chopper Command.
IT's funny, because Sourcesafe was bought by MS a long time ago. They never turned it into a decent product.
Hard drive ID, double key lookups....
