Just as O and the dems did his AE subsidies , right now, the GOP should be working with O to re-start American nuclear R^D and esp. the Development.
WIth a 5B / year fund for say the next 4-6 years, invested into a number of start-ups, we could have multiple companies trying various approaches.
At the same time, we need to deal with the waste and old reactors that exists. Trans Atomic and Flible could have new reactors within 6 years, if funded.
CONgress needs to quit being the worst session EVER and start doing something.

What is going to be a problem, is that China is going to manipulate the money again and dump on the west to revive their economy that is a total disaster.

This is the same problem with CO2. Many of you, such as yourself, will scream about America's CO2 emissions, yet, ours is at 14% of the world total AND DROPPING fast. OTOH, China's is at 33% and climbing. In fact, according to OCO2's data, China is MUCH higher than 33% (IOW, facts collide with what the chinese gov. "reports" and you far left accept).

Or, if we know that a cold front is incoming in one direction, simply increase the humidity in another area, so as to drop plenty of snow/rain.

With this approach, we could increase the snowpack in the western mountains and save it in the numerous reservoirs.

RO is used, but it is expensive. The reason why it is preferred is that it can be located anywhere and power lines ran to it. Now, if you have a power plant close to the ocean, esp if it is being used for cooling purposes, then desalination is next to NOTHING to do. Basically, it uses waste energy to create clean water. As such, it is NOT expensive, just limited in where it can operate.
