Only a "Dell computer" isn't a platform of any sort. I can build a machine that will run anything a Dell will, only with superior power at a lower price. Where's the ability to do that with an Apple.
Point is, trying to compare Apple pricing to oem x86 pricing is similar to the idiot method of benchmarking dual processor Macs against single processor x86 machines. It only serves to keep Mac users for feeling like complete morons for getting ripped off on hardware that doesn't give them any more power and comes preloaded with an operating system that is as useless to run as windows, only without the games.
It does no such thing. It "points out" that they would have even less chance to survive if they pissed off the 10 people left in the world who like their products.
I'll do him one better, Mac's don't even have look. They've got a 4000$ copy of Shake due to Apple buying out Nothing Real and acting all nazi to promote their lame platform. Other than that it's just another ugly box with an overpriced, repressive operating system. I'd rather be running windows.
I've seen it and it doesn't look "nice" or "slick", so say nothing of being "very" much of either. It looks lamer than the new firefox theme. I even like the look of Quicktime Player better.
Real Player has always been crap. It was never about the ads (well, not really) it was about their crappy format, their player having poor playback (yes I've used the most recent one), and of course the buffering. The point is, there has never been a need for them as other players do the job and do it better. And they killed vivo!
Maybe the fact that their media player sucks worse than windows media player, is bloated, and nothing they EVER do will make up for killing vivo? How's that for a start?
What part of "A well regulated militia" do you not understand, moron? The point is that you can have guns to protect the country from threats internal and external, not so you could run around with a 9mm you're more likely to accidently shoot your child with than ever fire in self defence.
You might also take note of the "well regulated" part. That means you don't get to own any gun you like whenever you feel like it.
Constitution, read it sometime instead of taking the out of context quotes from the NRA website:
Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Obviously ignoring the fact that an XBox is really rather underpowered for a modern PC, has no official support for keyboards and mice, has almost nothing worth playing (yes, that includes halo which sucks), and requires you to break the law in order to upgrade it?
Why would installing graphics and sound libraries or video drivers require a reboot? Are you guys fucking stupid?
And even in XP there are tons of programs that make you reboot after installing, and often times without telling you they are going to first or giving you a chance to reboot manually.
That's true, but when your tool breaks down and makes you restart it every hour or two it's time to get a new tool.
Think of it like this, if you had a hammer whose head fell off after every third strike would you just go "eh, that's how hammers are" and keep putting it back on so you could hit a nail 3 more times before repeating the excercise, or would you go get a new hammer?
Yeah yeah yeah. Fuckers shouldn't have been there, they got what was coming. Period.
And someohow the death of a couple of people in countries they shouldn't have been in doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as invading countries and killing tens of thousands while you do it.
And REALLY, stop with the "evil" this and that. That's just a bunch of childish theist clickedy clack.
You've obviously never installed linux.:)
You've obviously never installed a good Linux.
And if you had installed it more than once, you'd have realized quite quickly how inferior graphical installers are in general.
Yeah, it certainly has hurt micros~1 that they let their users chose which way to navigate their file manager.
It sure is a good thing that gnome isn't the only graphical interface for Linux, or there'd be nothing good to switch the x86 machines off of from windows.
Or be a real man and run Slackware.

Ooh, remind me how I can build my own Mac again! I've forgotten.
I've seen it and it doesn't look "nice" or "slick", so say nothing of being "very" much of either. It looks lamer than the new firefox theme. I even like the look of Quicktime Player better.
Even if there isn't spam the quality of their software is crap. So who really cares if they spam?

Fits on a floppy disk too.
VIVO KILLER!!!!

I'll take Linux over Apple any day for graphics. Better performance, cheaper hardware, and no ugly ass ui. Just need increased software support.

Actually, I think that was reported on /. Probably twice, knowing how they are with the dupes.
I'd say an operating system is a more worthwhile thing to be passionate about than the bedtime stories and dressup parties of religion.

VIM!!!!!! The greatest application in the history of mankind.
The original playstation memory cards only work with games for that system.
That they suck?
