Do you really think that a search for "Linux Windows" is more common then searches like "Linux download" "Linux command" and "Linux distro"?
The resulting webpages for a search for "Linux Windows" seem to be irrelevant and low quality (blog posts and the like), and the resulting webpages for a search of "Linux distro" seem much more relevant.
Here are the first four "Search suggestions" for when I type "linux":
linux linux windows linux microsoft linux vista
Is this because Microsoft inserted itself into those search suggestions? Or is it because the majority of Bingers are using Microsoft products and thus the results are skewed ?
If it has a name but no date, LEAVE IT ON THEIR DESK ON FRIDAY at 5:00PM.
If it has a name and an old date, LEAVE IT ON THEIR DESK ON FRIDAY at 5:00PM.
Every month or so, check if anyone is on a 3 week vacation, then send out an e-mail saying "Everything in the fridge gets LEFT ON THE VACATIONERS DESK", and then do it.
Some states like California do punish companies who have a security breach involving Credit Card numbers and SSNs.
2.) make it illegal to store a social security number/credit card number?
If credit card numbers are hosted by your company, the company is probably subject to the rules established by the PCI Security Standards Council (See https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ ). If your business does not comply, the Payment Card Industry will now allow you to process financial transactions, or they will limit the amount of money your business can handle. These rules apply to any systems which touch the Credit Card numbers, even if the numbers are not permanently hosted on the systems.
The problem with implementing PCI DSS rules is mostly institutional, political and financial. It takes time, effort, equipment and money to bring a non-compliant business into compliance, and staff and management will often object to some of the rules ("But I need root access on the database server. It makes my life easier."), or they don't understand different aspects of security ("We have a firewall. That means we're protected, right?") In addition, many of the PCI rules are purposely vague to apply to a wide range of systems. They are subject to interpretation. You may believe one thing, but your PCI auditor may disagree, and a second PCI auditor may believe something else entirely.
I believe there are similar rules for Social Security Numbers.
You don't run VMWare ESX or XenServer either one *on* Windows or *on* Linux. They're considered "bare-metal" hypervisors:
As I understand it, VMWare ESX is not a hypervisor and still requires a host OS. A newer product, VMware ESXi and XenServers are hypervisors, which don't require a host OS.
This KB article shows the difference between VMware ESX and ESXi.
Yes, or at least they advertise HA as a new feature in XenServer5, but it is not free.
VMware also includes HA, and it is also not free. I'm staring at some VMware sales literature for right now, and I honestly can't tell which of the zillion VMware products offers High Availability, or if HA is offered as a free add-on, or a paid add-on, or what. And they recently increased the license costs by $5-10K for the items on my list.
Citrix is also trying to offer a simpler product line, from the looks of it.
Unless they've made some major improvements, Xen has the problem of being only good at Linux on Linux. If you run Linux servers, and want Linux guests, it's great.
But XenServer is a Bare-metal hypervisor, like ESXi, correct? There is no 'Windows on Linux' or 'Linux servers'. There is a hypervisor, and the guest operating systems run on the hypervisor.

That was my first thought as well. I know several people who took Ambien and would wake up in the middle of the night and do very odd things, such as eat an entire pie from the fridge, or go ride on the exercise bicycle, start cleaning with the vacuum cleaner ("Um, mom? It's 3AM"), and go back to sleep with little memory of the event.
Some of them even sent emails.
These were doctors and nurses who often work the late shift at work.
Ambien makes you sleep, but apparently you don't sleep well.
I'm sorry guys. This is my fault. I have two young children, and they find these acorns, stuff them in their pockets and bring them home. We'll bring them back--- we didn't know this would cause a panic.
But on a serious note-- my anecdotal evidence will counter your anecdotal evidence. I have seen many acorns here in Berkeley, CA and on the California Central Coast. In October we were playing with acorns in Madison, Wisconsin.
If you want to be taken seriously, do a methodical survey, and compare this year's results against last year's results. I've read that Oak trees will sometimes produce alot of acorns, and will sometimes only produce a few.
McCain didn't change the Republican Party. The Republican Party changed him.
Ironically, I thought McCain was going to be the one to change the party. The GOP has lost it's way, and every year the party moves to the religious right. John McCain always seemed to stand up for what was right. I'm lean left but I respect some of the core republican causes. I once donated to McCain's Senate campaign, because I thought McCain would be the leader to save the Republican Party from itself.
And yet in the last couple years McCain completely collapsed-- it's like he lost his independence, and quickly started spewing the same vitriol that I hear coming out of the far right. John McCain, what happened to you?
I'm not sure if he chose Palin because he liked her, or because his Masters told him too. Either way, she is not a good candidate for VP by any stretch of the imagination.
I can either stay behind him and risk being caught in a pileup when he wrecks (not good); slow down to 55mph and cause a traffic hazard for the large pack behind me; or accelerate to 85+mph and pass him.
And the people behind you saw something like this;
Many of these drivers are safe about passing, but one fellow in a large SUV decides he needs to tailgate trucks at literally three feet, while changing lanes at 75mph, trying to get around them. He passes a few slow trucks doing this but continues to tailgate and weave around in dense traffic.
Sound familiar? This is the classic problem with aggressive drivers-- "I'm not a bad driver. That other guy is."
It wasn't a dream. It was a nightmare. Then another one, and another one, and another one. Then you got separated from your friends. Then the devil seized control of the system and it got worse. No rest for the weary.
The Roku Netflix player is a very different product. The Roku is not a DVR. Roku doesn't want to compete with the DVR market, which is dominated by a few large players.
My Roku box cost $100. The streaming videos are included with my regular NetFlix subscription ($15/month). It took me 5 minutes to set up the Roku for my encrypted wireless home network. The box is silent and simple to use. It takes about 1 minutes to start a new video.
These are all features which are hard to find on a MythTV box.

I noticed that also.

* The reponse from a Bing search: "Bong" (like 'Ping' and 'Pong')
* A person who searches on Bing: A binger (or is 'banger' a better word?)
* When referring to Bing search results in the past tense, it's a "Bang", like "Ring" and "Rang". Or maybe it's "Bung", like "Ring" and "Rung".
Hm... I didn't mean to make rude comments about Bing, but the name kind of lends itself to some bad nicknames.

Mine does. I live in Berkeley, CA and work in downtown Oakland, CA. Google Maps gives me three options: Walk, Drive or take public transportation.
More information on the service here:
http://maps.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=81106
My area is served by relatively good public transportation (BART and AC Transit), which is one reason I chose to live and work in this area.
but where are people seeing actual results here?
I think this might yet another fine example of truthiness.
Just because Colbert said it was true, doesn't make it so!

I like the name 'gondor'... is that because it should never/will never fall? If Gondor falls, there will be a big problem. ;)
