    Of course, there are a number of accounts of the coining of the term, for example by Eric Raymond and Richard Stallman, yet this is mine, written on January 2, 2006. It has never been published, until today.

    So they printed the source code to PGP in a book, published it, and used OCR in other parts of the globe to reconstitute it into computer software.

    There used to be a photo going round teh interwebs of it tattooed on some random bint's rump.

    That must be why the jobsearch websites are full of positions where the main requirement is yacc.

    I'd love to work on a 100 person project with 101 different languages. I mean, who wouldn't?

    Perhaps you should employ more mathematicians. You should be able to get that down to a quadratic amount pretty easily.

    Well, how many paid open source coding jobs are there?

    More than you might think. A lot of Linux code comes from corporations these days - Intel are the major one but RH and IBM are up there.

    I will add that it's one too many.
