I have exactly the same setup as you do: switched from cable+Tivo to DirecTivo, while keeping the cable modem for internet access. It's definitely the best of both worlds. I have a series 1 DirecTivo though.. They're about $100 cheaper, but they don't have the USB ports.
The only problem you might have is that if you don't get the local channels from the satellite, you won't be able to record them. DirecTivo can't record "regular" signals.
If they allow you to go on using the old rate tables, they could be found liable for providing incorrect tax advice. You need to have the latest rates.
Linux is the most viable server OS next to Windows. Microsoft is using Linux's weakest spot - the license - as a weapon against it. If Linux were commercial software with a viable company behind it, it would be in a lot more companies, and not just running web sites.
If you put "SWM, 24" into your profile and walk around broadcasting it, imagine all of the "matches" you'd receive that turn out to be ads for porn or dating services... At least maybe it would filter out the Viagra ads.
He chose to benchmark using Adobe AfterEffects, but that app does not use both processors on the Mac, and is not Altivec optimized, but AE is optimized for Intel
This points out a problem with the Mac and in fact with all non-Windows based platforms. There is such a huge market for Windows-based software, it pays to spend more development $$$ making and optimizing software for it. Feel free to use a non-mainstream platform (Mac, Linux, etc), but don't come complaining to the rest of us when things don't work as well as they do on Windows.

Try either paying for the software or uninstalling it. Either way, it'll clear up those pesky registration screens.
Anything is compatible with anything if you make enough changes to it.

How about this?
Just what I've always wanted: something that broadcasts personal information to everybody who passes within 100 feet of me!
Dumbest..Idea...Ever...
Is there somebody out there who is going to collect 1,000,000 of these and deliver them to Richard Stallman? If so, sign me up!!
