    Naah. You still have to go through the technical rigmarole. They're still filtering via the same mechanisms, which is massive proxy serving, it just means that this one location isn't on the list any more. The proxy's are still banned from editing.

    That'd be awesome. Konqueror works as a stopgap, since it loads the JVM directly, but it'd still be nice to have a proper, supported plugin under a modern OS.

    And if the processor is offline, they deal with it. Store the info until it can be charged, whatever. Crashing or otherwise malfunctioning in the face of 3rd party inaccessibility is definitely an app problem, and never excusable.

    If TFSummary is to be believed, the least they could do is make sure the app didn't crash on bad data returned from an API. There is NO excuse, ever, for a crashing bug in an online store app like that. There's no problem with the USPS servers being funky, there's a problem when people programming dependent apps somehow didn't at least plan on it ever happening.

    Why don't they put a fingerprint on it? Seriously... they already have a ton of computer algorithms tuned and databases filled with those. Why make the job harder than it needs to be?

    The TSA agents are still people, after all. The problem is that they have carte blanche to be assholes if they want to. They don't have to be, but they CAN be, and there's no benefit for anyone involved for them to have many of those rules, no matter how the TSA tries to spin it.

    Your provider should be able to disable texting. I don't agree with the pricing, but it does go over a different communication channel than data (with much more limited bandwidth), so comparing bits for bits is a little disingenuous.

    That said, there's no reason texts can't go over normal data channels. And I sign into AIM on my phone, and just ignore the whole thing when I can.

    I've found I've foregone LiveCD distros and just use a USB key. They're cheap as hell, and reusable, and when you boot to them, you can still write to them, too.

    Get an updated kernel. But I smell a troll... I have yet to find a single wired ethernet card that won't work with Linux. Are there some drivers not built by your distro for the kernel you're using or something?

    ...so you're complaining about FF2 support for a phishing filter you don't use being dropped?

    Or are you complaining about your IT department not supporting FF3?

    Either way, it really has nothing to do with the Mozilla organization, or Google shutting off these servers.

    The US is still operating under the 80's economic theories. Greed is good, no matter what, and look to get all the money you can today, because there's no guarantee for tomorrow. And the C?O's all still work on that principle.

    The problem we have is that a bunch of our businesses have sold off their capital and good reputations for short-term gains in the stock market.

    I should really learn Mandarin one of these days...

    Did you let your daughter play with the toys in the waiting room? Because those are much more likely to have been what got her sick than the MMR vaccine. Hell, just being in the doctor's office with other kids is more dangerous.

    Whitehart in all of it's ugliness is FF3 compatible, and as for Compact Menu, how about a replacement? That took me all of 3 minutes of searching, but I can see how it might be hard for someone. If they can't use Google, I guess.

    RHEL5 is out. If you want to use old, EOL'd software feel free. Don't bitch if it's not supported or updated, though. Besides, do you ever actually use the phishing filter on FF2?

    It doesn't stop you from typing in the whole URL. Isn't that what Firefox 2 does? Just gives you a text box? Firefox 3 only shows some extra info, and if you don't want it, is it really that hard to ignore? I find it's much nicer, especially when I remember a page title, or a product, but can't remember the URL I was at and didn't save a bookmark.

    Are you stupid? Because it really sounds like you are. She's not getting off (nor would your idiot child for robbing a bank), she's just being given a chance at a FAIR trial.

    You can get trials continued if you're unable to attend for a valid reason. It's actually fairly common. That doesn't mean you don't ever go to court, but you just do so later, when you're able.

    Tax law. They did an end-run around the constitution by incorporating drug limits into interstate commerce regulation. The DEA is funded and under the same department as the IRS.
