It's interesting to note the difference between Earthlink's DSL and Cable. The DSL service I use has gone steadily down hill over the last two years. At one point I called because I needed to switch the DSL service from one line in my house to the other (which, in the end, didn't need to happen). They told me they would have to turn off my current service and that it would take two weeks for the new line to be setup. Although this didn't make me happy, I knew it was likely the fault of SBC and possibly Covad. What angered me intensely was that the required me to buy a new modem and pay setup fees as if I was a new customer. They were completely unwavering when I insisted that I had a perfectly good modem which I was using with their service and had gotten from Earthlink.
Sure, it's perfect for Funcom. Open up the original game to everyone at no cost which brings a flood of noobs. Force all the older players to buy the expansions in order to get away from the noobs. Then... I think we all know step 3.
You can find good deals on DVD media. http://www.meritline.com/ has some spindles of 4x DVD-R 4.7gig for as low as $0.23US a disk with free ground shipping. They should be paying me for this...
Agreed. Eternal Darkness was exceptionally horrible in this regard. Every single time you died you had to watch the NINTENDO, Silcon Knights, Dolby Pro Logic II, etc. At around a minute between death and the next life it could get more than frustrating, particularly during difficult points in the game.
It's funny but I don't know how many times I sat and wondered if they got their news from anywhere else but slashdot... I'd see a story on TechTV at night that I'd have read hours earlier on/.
Interesting but I get the feeling that no one at the company who should care will actually care. If you posted that in open view on a prominant site then you'd get sued because it would make their investers stop and think about whether they should burn more cash or not. It seems clear that this company is a front, a scam. The scammers will milk the investers for as long as possible and then the company will implode.
I'd use this if it weren't for the fact that it opens articles in IE. If there's an option to change the browser please point me to it because I've searched hard and don't think it's there. There's no reason I shouldn't be allowed to choose Mozilla, Opera, etc to open a site. Sadly this is a problem for many of the news readers I've tried and if it isn't that it's another "feature" that prevents me from using the program.
One of the main problems, which I experienced, is that condensation can build up on the cold side of the unit. If installed correctly the manufacturers claim this shouldn't be a problem but for me it was when the system locked up and the CPU stopped generating heat. The Peltier unit continued to run for a few hours before I returned and shut off the power supply. It had cooled the cpu and the back of the motherboard down far below the dew point of the room and condensation formed on the back of the motherboard. The water ran down the thermal grease onto non protected circuits ruining both the cpu and board. This may not be a problem if you are always at your computer when it is turned on but I tend to leave mine on all of the time.
That's one hell of an overclocking considering the K5 series' fastest model was the PR-166. I think I got my K6 233 up to around 250 mhz. before thermonuclear meltdown began to occur.
I have Earthlink DSL which came with a ZyXEL 645m and after seeing this story I checked my modem. For over a year I've had the combination to the air supply on Princess Vespa's planet as the password for my modem. How was I supposed to know there was even one to begin with? None of my other modems have ever had one (phone, cable or DSL). I guess next time I'll RTFM a little more closely.
Flamebait? Really? I don't think so.

Yes and Urban Terror is coming as well. There is a problem in that there is no Mac client, though.

My browser is set to mozilla by default and I have the option for allowing access to IE unticked under "Set Program Access and Defaults".

Apparently some people in my state are making up my mind for me...

Maybe I should drive over and watch the action first hand, I don't too far from that house... ;]
