Do you think those maps will be buyable or downloadable for the rest of us? I mean, it would be very nice that before going hiking, climbing or something else to evalutate the field in real time 3D before.
A little CGI would make the job, enter the corners coordinates and they shoot you the map:-)

You are completly not there!! my V32000 is perfect for 3D!!! It can pop 60+ frames/sec in UT without problems in 800x600. Of course, i still use XFree86 3 for glide2 support.

2.2 30-50% speed boost? I just installed KDE beta and i can tell you that kmail is slower to start (From WindowMaker) compared to 2.1.1.

But hey, this is what multitasking and multiple desktop are use for? I just do something else until it is started
KDE apps are very sharp and it look good (Well, for 2.x cause 1.x was a POC).
I'm using kmail, kwrite and konqueror everyday cause they rock (even if they start slowly!)

You probably mean, Windows 2000 can't be more stable than X because of the kernel-graphics integration.
Believe me, when something go wrong in kernel, it's usually not cool
