    If's are one of the most intresting things in history, Personally I blame the Spanish for this whole mess, if they could have just defeated the British in 1588, then America would probably not have risen to prominance, and we'd all be speaking spanish.

    Ha! Believe it or not I tried picthing this idea a couple years ago in a class at college.
    Didn't do to well on that assignment if I recall correctly.

    I live in a former burb just north of Dallas (Farmers Branch for those keeping score) and even though I live 2 miles from the office, I really wouldn't dare walking there because of the traffic, and the fact that there isn't any way to get there on foot or bike without getting on a 6 lane street or cutting across a industrial district. Dallas is horrible for this kind of thing.

    Humm...I'm going to have to think about this one for a bit. I've never thought about capital punishment like that before. Thanks for this.

    I like to call this the "And Stay Off My Lawn!!!" concept. As long as people keep off, I don't really care what they do. Think of my lawn as a metaphor for the inherrent rights one has, Life, Liberty, you know the drill.

    I think I can see what he is saying, now I don't agree with him or this at all but here it is.

    You may or may not have $RIGHT.
    If you have $RIGHT you cannot remove $RIGHT unless there is a Rebellion or Invasion.

    Logically I guess it makes some sence, but really, it is just a load of horse manure.

    Let me put this as succiently as possible. Bullshit. In Nikita Khrushchev's own words, the Premier that followed Stalin for those of you keeping score, "We Will Bury You". This happened in the mid 50's. Then you have the Cuban Missle Crisis in the 60's. All I'm saying is that it is a two way street. Sure the US was involved in the continuance of the cold war, but so were the Soviets.

    I think you misunderstood him. My college friend explained it to me cause I was confused aswell. The best way I can explain it is like this. The Official Mormon Church is the Church of Latter Day Saints, there are other fringe groups as we was referencing, but they are a very very small minority from my understanding. They are official because they are the largest church by far, and I think that's why they are the "Official" church. Is that more clear? The goverment has nothing to do with it really.

    (I listen and donate a little to my local NPR station, which I'm told is liberal. I don't consider myself to be however)

    You know I always hear this, I consider myself a libertarian, and pretty conservative, as in people should take care of themselfs/stay off my lawn. However I really find NPR quite a good news source. Why is it that NPR gets such a liberal rap?

    I could be wrong but I had a friend in college who was a member of the LDS, and he told me that they did away with poligimy almost a hundred years ago or something.

    Also "moon-god-worshipping suicide bombers" might not be the best way of getting your point across, but I digress.
