We calculated the total cost to us for both pregnancies - it was around $200. Thankfully we live in Australia were there is a proper health care system.

Except they do. Languages such as Ada, and really any language that allows compilers to understand what is happening in the code, can optimise out many of the bounds checking. The cost of bounds checking isn't as great as you may think it is, and if it eliminates -all- buffer overflows wouldn't you choose it?

Apple's iPads are so incredibly cheap to make that no one seems able to match the price on them....and Toshiba (when they saw the iPad 2) said they'd have to consider going back to the drawing board.
