My GF couldn't find the 1st button the other day, she thought the buttons were the gripper ones on the side. After the light came on she still didn't like it.
When it installs, does it create its own beta profile without personal configurations, or does it attempt to migrate your existing profile, or even more disturbingly, does it use your live 1.5 profile? I realise the app exists in its own place, but the profile is more important.
Its ok, 100mbit at 10m with no obstacles in a lab environment is quite good, however in your home (where you have air as an obstacle) you will get 100kbps max.
You are better off teaching monkeys how to type and make paper planes than use wireless for wireless sake.
We could all be forced to enter our AOL id number in:D

Actually, every open source project can have private features. I myself have created some new features to firefox/other OSS projects * which would blow you away - you will only ever see them if I decide to release them.
Remember, the GPL says that you must share the code once you start distributing the software (granted most projects have public dev branches, but its only open once the code is remerged with the branch).
* I haven't actually, but its easy enough to do, just download a branch and then let the monkeys play with it for a while (you do have a squad of monkeys waiting for such things don't you?)
Wasn't firefox designed as the simple mozilla?

The mozilla suite was replaced by discrete components because thats what people wanted - AND ITS WORKED.
I hope history doesn't repeat itself, use the KISS principle.
This works really well until the one day you leave everything running, startup halflife and flick around the levels (uses memory faster...)
bleeding thing cannot smoothly say "You are running out of memory, Setting up an emergency page file now...." without something crashing.
Fix this problem and you are cooking on gas. A modern computer should be able to accomodate every malloc upto memory+free disk space and it can't easily.
They are driving themselves insane out at sea, they were all psyched to go into battle with some kick ass frikkin laser beams on their heads now they have to continue practicing with mop-handles tied on.
People don't see the benefits that these bulbs bring, the biggest thing people can commonly do to help the environment is to simply turn off unused lights and devices. We are all guilty of leaving extra lights on and not shutting off the pc or tv, think of how much energy we can save if we switched off the internet just for a couple of hours (and I mean all of it, not just your terminal!)
I don't know about that. I just installed Office 2003 the other week (i had to "upgrade" to full outlook) and it runs like shit on my athlon 64 I see pages refreshing and lag all around (clicking a folder keeps the mail list from the first folder for just under a second), so much so that I keep remarking its like an online app. Its coming to something when their flagship program cannot compete with Outlook Express for speed.
NTL in the UK have started airing lots more on demand stuff, from recent tv episodes (from the BBC) to entertainment and series. Some are pay per item (similar prices to itunes) but theres a lot thats free. Its like having a PVR in the box and is very cool (try pressing your on demand button)
*i know that sounds like an advert, but its the first new feature I've seen in a while.
would be potentially devistating, we are messing with DNA strands which might alter our genetic makeup and cause a global birth defect problem. We couldn't clean up the problem overnight because the world would depend upon cross pollinated GM stock wwhich all has the defect and burning it all and starting again may not be possible because then people might starve.
Yes its hyperthetical, no it most likely won't happen, but its an aviodable risk if this research works as they say.
Keeping the modifications to cross breeding (as has occured in nature since the dawn of time) whilst still getting the benefits (required features by crossbreeding with known plants brearing those features) without splicing in fish scales or newt sperm to a base food would seem MUCH better.
apologies for posting the same link twice in this thread, I thought I was discussing a reply from another thread and felt it would make a point a little clearer.
(Apologies if this has been covered before.)
No need, I think thats the most concise breakdown I've seen on the subject recently.
Thank you.
Cool, thanks for sharing.

Actually, you have always been able to close a background tab; just do a middle click with your scroll wheel on the tab.
Shit, its shared - backup before installing people.

If everybody powered down their machine at *their* mid-day 12pm for 2 hours it would be like a wave travelling the world.
A dramatic show of force that we do care about the environment.
Won't ANYBODY think of the sharks!

Shame on you Sony.

Of course it costs more to purchase star trek on DVD, they travelled long distances to make that show and dilithium crystals aren't cheap you know.
Speaking of shaving pussy...

How long until people start seeding "Inbox.dbx" or "Outlook.pst" and other fun files we all remember from p2p days?
Bullshit.
The original bittorrent client is written in python and lots more are as well.

But if you had a bad stomach and added laxatives to your lunch *for your own consumption* it wouldn't be your problem.
Your right, if it had exploded the shit would have hit the fan.
