Now as all the married and almost married men out here know, that if i was to say what i was thinking, it would have been a very lonely night for me and my PC!:-)
That's funny, I've been married for 10 years, and on the things that my wife and I don't agree on, she'll listen to my opinion and consider my viewpoint. I think there's something seriously wrong if you're letting someone control your life and tell you what you should think.
But what happens to privacy when everything you buy can be tracked from store floor to door?
Ummm, they'll know when people are stealing their merchandise?? I'm not sure what you were going for with that one, but you really need to loosen up that tin foil hat.
How nice of them. Non-commercial usage is available at no charge, while commercial pricing starts at US $99; attractive OEM pricing is also available.
The Solaris 9 x86 download is a $20 charge. The SPARC download is available at no charge. Also, the source was available for free for Solaris 8 as well, so that's not something new.
If there are, it's news to me. It must be a regional thing; AT&T, Charter, SpeakEasy, and Verizon all allow and often encourage use of routers and other NATing in both their AUPs and FAQs.
I've been using Xine forever, and 0.9.13 works incredibly well. I tried out 1.0-beta2 + 0.9.17 last night, and every time I try to open the GUI configuration tool, it crashes my X server. Guess it still needs some work, but that's probably why it's beta.
The central premise of the series is that God is evil, a celestial impostor who pretends to have created the universe and who so intensely hates flesh and blood that he wants people to live a repressed, joyless existence.
You realize this is only for NetBSD/PPC, right? I'm sure this would be great news for the Linux PPC users, but it won't affect most of us. Stick with WINE, I guess (CrossOver Office is very sweet, though).
Stress isn't necessarily increased by increasing the energy exerted. It's caused by repeated motions, and often more so by repeated smaller motions. This is one way to decrease stress on the hands, another would be to turn down the mouse sensitivity so that you make large, sweeping motions instead of constantly moving the mouse a millimeter at a time.
Just to break out the tinfoil, how do we know? I think that if I were to make Linux work on a device my company produced, I'd claim it worked without any patches, and thus only point people to a vanilla source, and not have to release any of my changes for my competitors to see. I'm no fan of the GPL (and bash it regularly), but this seems like a viable tactic. Saying that you can't get the code to work on their chip doesn't seem like much in the way of indisputable evidence that they altered the code, either.
SpamAssassin is nothing more than an advanced filter. This stops the spam before it gets to you and fills up the offending mail servers disk space with it.
Nullsoft has posted fixed version of WinAmp 2.81 and 3.0 on their web site."
Is there a reason they haven't released a new version with the bugfix instead of just uploading a new copy with the _same release number and date_? Both versions are listed as released in early or middle August, and there's no bugfixes listed anywhere on the site in regards to this. Site. Are they trying to hide that it's been fixed, or just don't want anyone to figure it out?
How about because they're released regularly for Linux and FreeBSD, run at 95-99% speed of the Windows drivers, and are the fastest and best-supported cards available for Linux?
Much more memory? The install takes a whopping 16 MB to run, and you can run the OS itself on 5 MB if need be. I really don't think this is too much to ask in this day.
The BIGGER problem with Teraterm is that the SSH module doesn't and won't implement SSH v2. At this point SSH v1 is about as secure as telnet and should be disabled unless there is a reason that makes it absolutely necessary. I think it's safe to say that by now PuTTY, which progresses at an amazing rate, has claimed any market share that Termaterm had among the freeware SSH clients. It is an excellent tool.

Sure it is. After all, the way to stop drunk driving is to TAKE AWAY THE ROADS. ;)

It runs the Linux 2.4 kernel without any patches.

Sure, that, and IDE drives lack all the advantages of SCSI (tag queueing and so on).

I think the real message here is "don't trust contractors." Or maybe "rumor sites are evil." Or maybe "Setec Astronomy."
That's funny, the message I took away from it was that if you violate a contract, the company has the right to, and often will, sue you.

There will be revenue associated with these items.
;-)
Well I'm glad we got over THAT hurdle. Perhaps the next step will be making a profit?
What are you talking about? Since when is innovation limited to producing software code that carries out a theory or concept?

No way. However, the IT group was kinda surprised that Steve Lutz insisted on keeping with the first letter + last name naming scheme. I shit you not.
Awesome. For the record, it appears both http://openoffice.e4a.it/1.0.0/ and ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/packag es/OpenOffice/1.0.0/ have it. I pulled it off the former at a decent speed.
That's the first option listed, chief. No need to go editing your preferences file.
Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts and Windows. I uncheck all except the last 3.
It most likely says "unlicensed third party remote access software." Nice way to make money, huh?
I'm sure that Symantec bought a hefty license to have PCAnywhere work with XP. "Rogue" applications like VNC are really the only ones in question.
