  1. One advantage! Maybe two! on Contractor Proposes Laser Rifles for US Military · · Score: 1

    Advantages:

Accuracy and low noise (I'm assuming it'll be relatively low noise) Wind and gravity will have basicly no effect on this weapon.

    Disadvantages:

Very Toxic (I guess putting depleted uranium all over everything wasn't bad enough), the heat produced, EMP vulnerability, expense (doesn't sound very cheap to me at least,) and I don't think it would have a high firing rate (I really don't know, though.)

So... sounds it'd be great for special operation snipers, but complete arse for ground troops.

Hell, I attended a lunch and people learned I was a vegetarian... this seemed to weird out many of them and I'm pretty sure some classify me as a "goddamned hippie!" If word got out that I was an atheist I honestly don't know if they could ignore that. People in the government will do what they feel is just. What's interesting is Halliburton was super nice to him and awarded him $20,000,000.00 (despite his origional severence package required he be awarded only $2,100,000.00 and required him to stay until he was 62. He's 59.) He owns more than a million shares (over $10,000,000.00 worth) of this commpany. Why was Halliburton so nice to Cheney despite his leaving before he was supposed to?
