    They won't if your name is `steve smith` and you call yourself `simon jones`. But eventually, someone will publicly call you steve, or someone who doesn't like you will report you, and if Google bother to investigate (perhaps check your email or read your post history or whatever) and close your account, locking you out of all your email, you'll probably be a bit pissed off. It's not a reason to not use G+, but it is a reason to perhaps create a new account for it rather than linking it to one you value.

    Yeah, I kind of don't care about most, just one has to work. I use Ubuntu, which does it, so I can't say I'm greatly fussed about Suse, Centos etc

    Phones suck for that sort of thing. They also assume one user, so you can't hand your phone to your friend/daughter/colleague without wondering if they're going to phone/text/ install non-free apps etc. It would be nice if they were more like regular computers so they could log on as a guest and have largely read only access, limited access to the above etc. It would also be great if the filesystem was encrypted so if your phone was stolen it wouldn't give up its secrets quite so easily. All solved on a linux desktop... so near but so far on the phone.

    So you're saying they're both? Had to tell, because you don't provide any details, making it impossible to Google for. And I've no idea what "One day they get slammed by a drunk driver" means. Is that a metaphor? (I like metaphors as much as the next guy, but typically they need to be easier to understand that what it's a metaphor for, otherwise there's no point!)

    What are the chances that Google will:

    1) alter the way the Dalvik VM works such that the same source will execute differently, although producing the same results, so that app developers code continues to work, or

    2) launch a new language for developing Android apps, but with a conversion tool to take existing source and turn it into whatever the new language looks like (some other variant on c/java/whatever...lets face it they're all practically identical nowadays)?

    You idiots never learn anything. That's right - landfill sites are all situation insided of 30 feet of waterproof material, so any toxins are safely stored forever, with zero chance of it leaking into the water table. That grass they plant over the top of it - it turns toxins and poisons into butterflies and puppies.

    Why? As long as G+ includes a `don't bother me with game requests` I need never know what other people are doing. As a company Google are taking gaming more seriously, so they're well placed to support good multiplayer games using all their other stuff (location, video, mobile etc). There's probably a good geocaching game in there somewhere.
