    your the only person i'd head of haveing any trouble with 3ware, usualy if a product has troubles like that, 9/12 fails, you'll hear about it.

    but with 3ware alls i hear is good things witch leads me to belvie its not 3ware but your drives or MB or something else.

    3ware seems like a great company, i e-mailed them with a question about NCQ and got a decent answer back in a single day!

    promise... 1 week and still no answer.

    Have you used the 3ware cards before? They are what i'm looking at for a 8driver raid 5 and i want to make sure they are reliable.

    I wonder, if you upload 99% of a rar archive, did you commit copyright infringment?

    You didn't give anyone something that could be used and what you did give was a "random sequance of bytes that happen to be something uesefull once you get the last 1%" lol

    Your telling me a company has a trademark on the APPEARANCE of a damn cube?! now WTF is with that??

    i can see trademarks on names, MAYBE even slogans. But the appearance of a cube?! Thats just going to far.

    There is no such thing as true "parental control" on the net. No amtter what you try there will always be sites that are unblocked that should eb bloced, and any smart kid will beable to find a way around it.

    Most blacklist programs work by haveing the company keep an upto date list of bad sites, and if the company gets sloppy it no longer works.

    unless you use AOL (not the REAL internet) can't really be that assured assured your kids are safe from the big bad net.

    why not use MPEG and FLAC or some other open audio codec?

    and as far as i know theres only lossless windows audio and its not to good at compression.

    How i wish i had mod points so i could mod you down.

    # GDS runs as a system service and has access to everything.
    it runs as local user. NOT a system service like the MS index service.

    # Google got in bed with MS on this one as they only cache MS Office type docs.
    No, prehapes they only cache MS office docs bceause its the most commen and its beta so they dont' have many "doc types" in, also most other types are TXT or readable in notepad.

    # GDS could easily cache file security attributes and filter accordingly based on the logged in user.
    it doesn't have to, because its run as a local user!

    # You'd all be having a fit if this happened on Linux.
    Not really because in linux most if not ALL public terminals are setup properly to prevent this!!! a public linuc box does not allow a user acees to otehr uses homedirs in any way shap or fashion, and if an adim used it well that admin could do whatever he wanted to anyways.

    lol good point, i think its the fact windows is not a good OS at all for public terminals due to its very insecure design.

    It is an OS issue because linux is easily setup to disallow reading of other users data, on the univeristies linux box thats shared you can not read anything in another users dir.

    And if your running as root its expected you won't do that because your the adim, you could just as easily get that data without the tool, its not hard i've done it before.

    a logon/off script could simply erase all previous cache and user data... or a app that erases it after 10min of idle time, its not that hard at all...

    Stupid setups are the only reason for this "privacy issue"
