    They bought hardware rights as well. I worked for Gateway for 2 years and in that timeframe they changed their goal from "Leader in the PC industry" to "Leader in information appliances" (close)
    I can see gateway one day with a focus on home appliances with cpus in them.

    I have seen FreeBSD and Linux run side by side on a heavy volume network and can say that FreeBSD "seems" to be faster with the TCP stack. This could be due to the OS as a whole being faster or just tweaked better out of the box.

    Sure it has a telnet server built in .... too bad Be dosent use users so anybody can login to your box and do whatever. This is a SINGLE USER OS! if you cannot manage connections to the box it is useless.

    I agree. Windows 9x is not a networking OS and it dosent run "servers" on it to exploit. And if somebody installes it themselves or if they download the latest 0 day warez with BO wrapped into the *.exe its their dumb fault. I work for a very large computer manufactuer as a technician and I will enjoy every minute of charging folks like this 50 bucks to remove it.

    I agree with that! What we need is one more big distro (mandrake or turbolinux maybe?) to gain a strong foothold in the industry. That way comanies will make sure their products are polished before they go gold (like windows should be).

    Yeah I heard about this 3 years ago
    (being im a technician, lots of techs/clients talk out of their ass so im not sure if this is accurate). I was told it would be unlimited space with the speed at least of 6ns or faster.
