This channel has been very helpful to me many of a time. Sure they will not hold your hand but thats not what I want. I either want an answer or point me in the right direction.
I am one new FreeBSD user. After installing 3.2 I found that the file structure made more sense. Also I really enjoy the freebsd website when searching for an answer it is very well laid out and helpful, and I really like/usr/ports.
I will prob still run some type of Linux from time to time to check up on the progress but for my small cable modem firewall/gateway I will run *.BSD.
The problem with FreeBSD is that if youre trying to install X brand hardware and you have searched the HOWTO, FAW, and BSDhandbook and cannot find any information then ask in #freebsd on efnet (0r any irc network for that matter) you will get the RTFM answer every time. Example...... last year I was trying to get my ess1370 soundcard working in FreeBSD. When asking for advice in #freebsd I was told by many in the room that they had theirs working no problem with a hack. Asking how they did this I got the huge brush off. ALL I WANTED WAS A WEBPAGE, HOWTO, etc. I had searched google.com hotbot etc and didnt find anything.
I still use FreeBSD as a NATd box for my cable modem. And yes I figured out how they installed their 1370 sound card. After I subscribed to several FreeBSD mailing lists.
It was bad CGI scripting. And you must keep this in mind. Any OS that lets users login or runs a service can be "hacked" it has nothing to do with the OS but the System admin.

I thought this was at a district level not the Supreme Court. Please give me a link or a clue if I am wrong.

NT is slowly fading into irrelevane. Good to see Compaq pull out in time.
No *.BSDcon for Kansas I bet.
