I think this looks like a good system, but since I am a big fan of Gnome, I will stay with FreeBSD for now. I do however know KDE has a lot of fans, and this is probably perfect for them. To each his/her own:)
I think if they are going to compare wich opens faster, then they should test the boot speeds between windows and FreeBSD or Linux. In my opinion my BSD boots much faster than my windows machine, so with that time saved, i have a lot of extra time to open my docs, and I dont really think my doc speed is to important anyway.
I dont really care what Dell does B/C I would never buy a dell...all my machines r home built and i dont normally install windows on it. MY laptop was formatted and fixed with FreeBSD, I basically use windows for work. I love Google and think this is a great step for them and will help a lot of the non educated users out there as to what a real search engine can do, but whatever Dell sells has no real impact on me.
Just for kicks, i went to Dells web site and did a search on google...I got 1229 results, the first few were HDD's then some books equaling 26, then 1199 was tech support, and 4 articles.
Hmmmm...I would think after this deal they would at least link back to google.
I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, but I do want to try this once I can get a pirated version, but I'm a bit disappointed that they don't show any screenshots of the new 'Blue Screen of Death':(
will it be more friendly?? a little less cryptic? will it still be blue??

I use FreeBSD 4.11 on my laptop, and I really wish I could run 6.1. My problem is this, I had to unplug the touchpad on my laptop b/c it is broken, once i unplug it..6.0 can't boot, so install never takes place. For some odd reason 4.11 is'nt effected by this. Once i replace my touchpad or find a work around, I will surely give BSD 6.1 a try.:)
(BTW if i plug it in, nothing can be installed at all, not even 4.11)
wow, thats amazing, but I really don't understand the reasoning. I mean if they are going to go through all that trouble to get everything set up, why not just start a legitimate company and do it legally.
I can't remember what I'm supposed to think, and when I called tech support they just told me I'm not thinking the right thoughts.:(

Are the people taking this road all getting directions from a GPS??? Granted a GPS in a car isn't uncommon, but I dont know anybody who has one. I have a GPS, sadly not 1 in my truck. So would taking it out of the data base really help? I could be wrong, but I find it hard to beleive that everyone taking that road is being told by their GPS, also...for such a well traveled road, why not get rid of the bolders, pave it and put up a gaurd rail.
Just a thought.
