I'm not sure what kind of spamming is being done, but with proper configuration of qmail (not hard to do), it will refuse to accept messages for destinations not in its accept list, unless the messages come from a set of ip's you specify.
this wouldn't stop inbound spam to mail domains you host, but it would stop you from being an open relay.
on the subject of calling the terrorists cowardly, i think it may stem from the (assumed) death upon impact. I personally don't think a plane vs. building attack out of nowhere is brave, especially if you aren't planning on living to tell about it.
Maybe in an ongoing conflict with a defended building, where taking out the building could change the face of the conflict.
Also I think the idea is that using violence to voice your opinion is a cowardly way to do it.
If we ignore our constitution for even one hour, we have lost. Scaring the shit out of terrorists, is an act of terror. We must not break our rules because the terrorists have broken them.
for my in car computer (release date: real soon now TM), i'm planning on using a ti-85 calculator with a grey link cable (rs-232), but a pda has high potential to be cooler (but i've allready got a ti-85)
Programms written in higher level languages following good documentation practices are much less difficult to debug and maintain by third parties than assembly language programs.
Furthermore, an optimizing compiler will take self-documenting code and turn it into fairly efficent unreadable code before it spits out the executable. The growing speed of processing makes using less effecient code less of a problem, except in the most often used areas of a program, which can be individually optimized (even down to assembly if necessary).
So we're using the speed of the machine as support for trading off a little effeciency for maintainability.
If it was not for Turning, many of us would be speaking German. (And I have a bad enough time spelling as it is...)
Actually, assuming you're young enough that the 'many of us speaking German' would have applied while you were growing up, you could probably spell much better in German. Nearly all words are spelled phonetically in German, even a lot of words borrowed from other languages are respelled for German. And most of the words that break the rules for spelling follow a different set of rules (which a very few break). Compare to English where spelling rules are more of suggestions, especially with words borrowed from other languages.
my school does a mandatory laptop program (well supposedly you can get out of it, but its a pain in the ass, so you just bitch and moan at the pick of laptops) where they charge you $X/year (1/3rd of that each quarter, summer no charge) and they provide the laptop, in two years, you get a new one, and in two years after that you graduate and get to keep it as their gift (or some bs like that)
last year was the second year of the program, and they've worked out most of the bugs (other than buying laptops w/ easily distructable cases)
as far as i know, the 'technology fee' is subject to financial aid (and i've got a scholarship from the school that seems to magically add up to the technology fee)
now if only they'd get an install setup that doesn't involve me wiping the drive as soon as i get it (this year is going to use w2k which will be a lot better than w98 since the particular model of laptop they used last year and this year doesn't do power management in w98)
i don't know where i'm going w/ this so i'll hit sumbit:)
it was clearly a denial of service attempt to fill up my logs (my publiclly accessible webserver runs on a 120 meg drive, 20 of which is swap)
as the affected machines will continue to hit my machine w/ really long urls for the logs, stopping them will prevent the logs filling up as quickly (yes this is a big deal, my logs rotate weekly, and in general, before codered was hitting me, i got maybe 10 requests a day, w/ code red i got 10 _long_ requests an hour)
and now, they've got live backup stuff (if thats what you meant) thats getting to be pretty well done (theres still some issues on some types of queries, and if you have two (or more i guess) servers backing up to each other w/ auto increment it can do some wierd stuff)

the Qur'an came before the mormon book, I can't remember my World Religions class well at the moment, so i'm not sure where it sits w/ the new testament, but if we say the Qur'an and the New Testament are 2nd and 3rd (in no particular order) that would make the mormon book the 4th:)
(note, i'm not trying to say any religion is better than any other in this post)

actually aol does have an 'AOL Mobile Communicator' that if i recall correctly uses the BellSouth data network (they don't say, but other providers which the exact same device and different software do) and allows you to do aol im, and aol email
i was looking into getting one, but i have no money
at the time i was looking into it, it was cheaper for the device itself and also for monthly service (including the required unlimited(inbound internet for me) aol account) than for a similar offering from earthlink that didn't have IM support

they hacked together their own io card and some sort of driver
i don't know if this is true, but if so, it can't be anyworse than him reading off a teleprompter. Perhaps the teleprompter was down.
and what happens a few years after we leave?

what if it was known that he was harbored in a particular city, but not known exactly where in the city?
would that justify bombing the city? or random searches? (we believe ted is in this city, and since you're in this city, lets check your house)

well... if they mean either 1 or up to 10%, they should say
...'
'... up to 10%, but at least one,
or specify the range with clearer (more) words.
But, as another poster pointed out, this is what the reporter says the law says, not a quote from the law.
also, IIRC win2k can not be upgraded to home edition.... only professional (unless they changed that at the last minute)
Thank you!!!!
it's always good to have somebody who knows how the license works.

lack of a sane backup mechanism?
you can just copy the files around for backup...

well it can do it, but not w/out drivers from ati for it (and ati doesn't do drivers for that, mirroring works though)
(ati mobility pro)
without lag?
:)
i personally think theres some high round trip times, especially to some types of recievers
my laptop can do that too... but only in win98... not in 95, me, 2k, xp, or linux

when the ads are on topic and at my level i'll pay attention to them
if the webmaster can only get ads that advertise to my penis (ie ads w/ super models) or are in general annoying (punch the monkey), i won't
