    Are they going to have a train or something to move people around more quickly than they can walk?

    Apple is currently spread out in buildings all over Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.

    Walking this is a hell of a lot easier than driving/shuttle to a building in another city.

    I liked the movie. sure, there were problems. But you get an appreciation for it after watching Star Wars episode I.

    Suddenly, Lost in Space doesn't seem so bad...

    But but but Silicon Graphics is dead. Dead and buried. You can't remake Lost In Space without SG workstations peppered here and there. What's next L.I.S with Windows 10 or IOS ? Shit.

    Atari has been dead and buried for a long time, but the name still lives on.

    Why not Silicon Graphics?

    Space X will likely already be flying a "deep space" Dragon long before Orion sees an orbital launch.

    Right after Apple switched from PPC to Intel. There was so much demand for Mac laptops that IT spun up a program to provide them internally.

    Huh? I also worked at Sun. In our division, 90% or more of us used Linux.

    You're the few. Even the Solaris team used Macs running Solaris x86.

    For how long in a given month before T-Mobile cuts you back to EDGE and its 0.05 Mbps dial-up-class speed?

    Never. I barely use 500MB per month. Maps, email and web don't really require a lot of data.

    And do you really want to see the list of Macs still being sold and/or still in common use that do have a Terrestrial Ethernet port? I assure you, it is a LOT more models than your measly little list.

    Incorrect

    Around 2/3 of all Macs sold are the laptops listed above.

    Otherwise known as, "the majority of Macs sold."

    Most Macs still have built-in Ethernet connectors...

    • MacBook - No Ethernet Port
    • 11" MacBook Air - No Ethernet Port
    • 13" MacBook Air - No Ethernet Port
    • 13" Retina MacBook Pro - No Ethernet Port
    • 15" Retina MacBook Pro - No Ethernet Port

    I don't know what fantasy world you live in, but in the real world, very little changes. Even brand new housing developments have nothing for EV.

    But why would I go to my local gas station in the middle of suburbia to charge my vehicle when I can just charge it at home?

    Because "home" is an apartment or condo and there are no charging stations in the parking lot.

    At least that is my hope. The concept of car ownership is archaic. I look forward to the offloading all the associated penalty costs of car ownership in favour of a service model.

    Very true. A big difference between a company testing new technologies with each flight and companies making hollow promises for funding.

    You got that backwards, Seagate bought samsung's HDD buisness.

    It was a stock swap merger. Everything else is just corporate legalize to slide around various international regulations.

    You do realized that there are essentially only TWO HHD makers now? You're choice is limited to A or B.

    WD owns HGST.

    Samsung owns Seagate.

    Google maps would have had trouble existing in 1997, but more interestingly, how do you think Google maps have declined over the past decade?

    The thing they broke in the past year was the feature in the web browser to always display traffic.

    Now they have decided it is something you have click on every singe you interact with the map.

    You're forgetting the frequency at which the AOL mail servers are unreachable and elderly user complain that their computer is broken. Yahoo is #2 on the list with the same annoying mail server problems.
