    Just another reminder to use strong passwords, password managers, and change them often. It's a pain, but it's the reality of the digital world.

    What good is a password manager when the answers to your security questions are public knowledge?

    Google doesn't supply updates to most of the Android phones. It's the device manufactures that do that.

    The manufactures don't either.

    HTC G2 (aka Desire Z) and HTC One S. Updated ended barely a year after purchase.

    The US HAD a $1 coin. It was shut down due to "cost cutting." But the old ones are still in circulation.

    Yeah, I had a similar problem with a friend visiting the US again and forgot to bring his currently active prepay T-Mobile SIM.

    He stopped in a mall near the airport to have his prepay account switched to a new SIM and they tried to sell him a phone. That's when I had to explain to him that the mall kiosks are 3rd parties reselling T-Mobile services and are not actual T-Mobile stores.

    I took him to an actual T-Mobile store and they had him set up in a few minutes.

    Heck, wasn't the iSight the only webcam for Firewire?

    No, I had firewire webcams from 2 different vendors long before Apple released the iSight.

    The original demonstrations I saw at conferences with the early firewire boards only had a Sony firewire webcam as firewire was originally only designed for moving video.

    Using firewire for external hard drives and other tech came long after firewire/i.link was added to video cameras.

    Yup. A TV show giving inaccurate information is going to prevent people from making meth.

    36MPG is not good gas mileage, especially for a tiny car like that. I think that's what is bothering the vandals.

    My 2009 model only gets 26-30MPG.

    Also keep in mind that Comcast keeps the serial number for that modem in their database, so if you try to sell it or give to someone else to use on Comcast they will refuse to activate it and accuse the new owner of being a thief Even when you are no longer a Comcast customer and haven't used the modem with them for over 12 months.

    Voyager was somewhat watchable: several non-ridiculous characters, some non-ridiculous story, less of the "holodeck" ridiculousness.

    My MacMini will not run any version of OS-X later than Snow Leopard.

    I do not plan to upgrade to a newer Mac, I plan to investigate other, non-Apple, options.

    That would be a 2006 Mac mini. You are complaining about upgrading from an 8 year old computer?
