We should only share what belongs to us. When we buy information-oriented things such as a CD, we don't buy all of it. This is very different from buying traditional, material-oriented things. That is, if we don't want to break the law.
I think that's the point. If I pay for something, I want to own it. All of it.
I would definitely go see more movies if a evening show was less than $7.75/person for a ticket, and I know the prices in North Dakota (where I live) are lower than elsewhere in the country
Agreed. Here (SW PA) it's $8...but we have a $5.50 matinee, at least...
Thank God I work in the pizza business, which means I always work nights!

Who Needs Radio?

Streaming, maybe?
That's the biggest thing going for radio...if I want something live, its not going to happen digitally, for now, at least...
Besides, radios are a LOT cheaper than the comprable computer equipment. iPods are $299, radios are quite a bit less:-p. I don't have that kind of $ lying around.
I'm running 10.2.5 on my Beige G3 266 here...
And OSX only recognizes 320 megs of my RAM:-\.
It's a bit slow, though not un-usable...maybe I'm just too used to using it, though...
As for Panther making great strides on performance for older machines...it doesn't SUPPORT older machines. I won't be buying Panther because it "can't" on my Mac...
Funny, I don't know what I want to listen to ever. That's why God made the random function. Just copy 256MB of random oggs to your compact flash and play them in random order. I like alphabetical and size orders. What more can you ask for?
But unlike if you had your entire library along with you, when you say, "Oooh, I really want to hear some Hatebreed right now!!!!" and, well, sorry, the random didn't get any Hatebreed...so you're screwed. If you have your whole library you can just go to whatever you feel like at the moment.
"implies that the entire iTunes window is being buffered offscreen "
I wouldn't doubt it. Since OSX uses your graphics accelerator to draw windows on a Mac, I'm assuming that they implemented it the same way on PC, which would mean that it'd be slower, right?
With games such as Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament being directly responsible for the Columbine massacre,
Ummm...lets take a look at "release days," shall we?
Quake III: December 3, 1999
Unreal Tournament: March 14, 2001
Columbine: April 20, 1999
Does anyone else see anything wrong with the above statement?
Kids flock to anything with a warning label. While GTA3 and Vice City are amazingly well put together games, the negative news publicity probably is most of the reason why they have sold most of their copies. Yes, the games are great(from a gamer's perspective), but the morality is horrible. Putting a taboo on it makes it sell more.
Here's the problem with your comparison:
I dont need serial ports, paralell ports, or a floppy drive.
So why should I add them, just to make it exact?
I haven't touched them in months with my Mac...and when I tell that to people, they get this shocked look on thier faces. You should have seen my computer teacher's face when I told her my computer didn't have a floppy drive. It was priceless.
As for the mouse with more than one button argument...I too, prefer a two button mouse...with a scroll wheel, too...but I've used both in the past two weeks, and it's not too big a pain to use a single mouse button.
...Stable for 12+ hours?
Wow, that's a real acomplishment...
My (aging) Beige G3 running 10.2.3 hasn't crashed...since I installed the OS.
Yes, some individual applications have crashed, but as someone else says, use Force Quit. If you don't like Apple-Option-Esc, then select it from the Apple Menu.
Works every time.
As far as Dell and XP go...I've had nothing but problems with them. That's why I have a Mac...
But you are entitled to your opinion, wrong as it may be.
I'd love to see your evidence...but the link is broken. When I copied and pasted it, it said that it couldnt find the document.
Could you post a new link, maybe?

I guess Ancient Roman civilization really WAS advanced... Wonder if they had Mountain Dew and Doritos, too...
They're worse off because they're paying for a service they cannot use.
It's going to be the popular "bra and panty" mode...I think first one to be stripped loses (girls only) Wrestling fans want to clarify?
Wasn't the reason G5s were scarce at launch because of this? I figured that Apple would fill this order first, and THEN take care of everyone else.
I have USB. I think it needs BUILT-IN USB...

(And it runs fine on a 266 MHz G3 in Mac OS X). Exactly what I'm doing right now :-D

"They make a living on this." But they don't. It's the labels that make money from CDs. Artists make their money from tickets and t-shirts.
