I'm a procedural programmer who has hammered my way into OO and Web programming. I find it easiest to start with a workflow chart, then model the real world workflow, rather than trying to fit everything into classes and patterns.
Ah, there it is. I messed up on the name is what caused the confusion. I'm talking about PBMRs- Pebble bed modular reactors- And they've been in development for about 20 years. Looks like the early hopes failed.
Have I jumped universes again? What happened to the disposable, small scale pebble bed reactors that could be disposed of without removing the fuel from the reactor?
Pebble Bed sealed breeder reactors have been around for at least 10 years that I'm aware of. The spent nuclear fuel is never removed from the generator in that model, it just keeps making electricity until it can't anymore, and it is isolated from the surrounding environment.
I don't understand why massive banks of batteries can't solve this problem- for nuclear, wind, and solar (and wave, and thermocouples, and just about any other semi-passive energy collection method).
The data they provided is not enough to decide most advantageous. For that, you need TWO numbers in the graph- average cost of living and average wages. Either one alone isn't enough- both political parties know that, so both political parties concentrate on only one number.
Rate of growth kind of tries to measure average cost of living, but the relationship to wages and actual cost of living is too complex for the average voter.
Because of course, when a Republican administration gets elected, it can't possibly be NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and MoveOn that will be the targets of unnecessary IRS audits informed by NSA spying. Not in a million years.
Once government has grabbed power, government will abuse power, until the revolution comes.

The entire point of the original article was supposed to be that People didn't do it, but it appears that People killed the whitepaper, or at least, slashdotters did. Whether slashdotters are people remains to be proven.
Because Obama has realized the cost of storage, and the Mighty Pen of the Executive has dictated that the federal government won't spend money on that anymore, and outsource the job to the common carriers instead, who will then be required to provide exactly the same information upon request.
Yeah, more of a Wi-Fi curtain than an Iron Curtain.
The Iron Curtain was largely physical, depending on massive manpower and in many places concrete, razor wire, and other physical barriers, to maintain.
This is just citizen tracking. And mostly virtual.
And yet, tree ring data from California shows that region has been in drought for something like 1600 out of the last 2000 years.
Much of it significantly *before* modern technology and CO2 pollution.
Could it be the real problem is that we don't actually know what the average temperature was before 1700?
Mod Parent Up.

Or educated by Alice to have the mathematical skills needed to accept a job with such low pay that you need to go on food stamps.
We've been through this before- how many 3 and 4 digit users are left? I agree with you, they need to prove to us that they are listening.

I see your Bill Nye, and your Ken Ham, and raise you a John Paul The Great:
Faith and Reason, for we must have BOTH, not either
Mod parent up. The real problem, as usual, exists between the chair and the keyboard, and is not technological.

Yep. And like most economists, they have completely missed that money can't buy happiness.
It's an app, app, app, app world now. There aren't many creative types programming in Assembly any more, even among males.
The key to getting the females interested is killer apps.
Deflation can only happen if we allow growth to stop.
Under a dictator, there is always repeal by bullet.

Decreasing growth means that inflation will eventually outpace wage growth, so greater income is not equal to more buying power.
I miss the days when enough of slashdot knew c syntax that I could just write !=

What article?

NONE of those solutions, including the current one, have been tested for longevity.
I went a year between my honeymoon and getting pictures off of my 1st gen digital camera, stored in flash memory. About half were corrupt.
Who are the other 77% of the class?

If being rich required brains, the rest of the world would be MUCH better off. Being rich just requires the ability to be sociopathic.
