A friend of mine asked me to check out the tablet for her so she can gift it to someone. I found out I can type 300 words faster than I can write. same with the navigation. and I hated to clean up the palm/fist prints on the screen. They need to do something about that (call me clumsy). It was kinda neat that I could sit in a hammock and work with it as they show in the ad, but then again, when I am in the hammock, I am someplace else.. ;)

It is creating inroads into commercial applications though (like a warehouse) where the stockers/retirevers are using ruggedized tablet/pocketpc variants to keep track of the inventory. Its kinda sketchy but I have seen it at work and the reception to it has been definitely positive!

    amen to that.
Our setup currently has websphere running on AS/400 and we had problems galore. we bought a new server about an year ago with one gb ram and IBM recommends getting another 1 gb for just $14,900 to actually make it run.
this is not a troll but I hate that stupid crap they named websphere and bloatware called WSAD.

  12. Re:Buddy, you don't know poor! on Sun Sued Over H1-B Workers · · Score: 1

That would not be based on fact. If you ever look at the labor forms, the company employing the worker has to mention what salary the employee will be paid. If it falls below the line associated with the territory the person is going to be employed at, the visa gets rejected (and the company can get audited. checkmate). I have never heard of an IT firm which states one fact on the form and follows a different plan in person. Liable to get screwed. royally.

Why the fuck do I pay taxes?

You think H1-B workers don't? This might come as unrelated but the term for H1-B allowed by INS is only 6 years. If you don't get your permanent residency status meanwhile, its bye bye to USA. oh yeah, I will never see the Social Security taxes that I paid, the medicare taxes, the 401K (penalised maybe, if I withdraw early) but the last time someone took my money with no intention of returning it back was called a thief...

Bottom line is, everyone pays taxes...
