So we just need to find a way to turn Walmart agains Microsoft and watch the explosions and carnage the ensues. Smiley the price slasher vs. MS Bob and Clippy?
however any company that encourages their employees to apply for welfare and foodstamps as walmart does is off my christmas card list
Maybe some links to news articles to back up your statement? I've heard of some of the lawsuits employees have against Walmart for discrimination when it comes to promotions but I haven't heard anything about encouraging employees to apply for welfare and food stamps. In fact, in the state I reside (MI), working at a Walmart at minimum wage would disqualify you from receiving all welfare except the WIC (Women with Infant Children) program.

I'm sure the mom and pop stores love to sit on large stocks of CD's with limited audiences to sell to just so they can charge low prices that leave them little profit.
I think someone should actually have to own or be a part of a small business before actually commenting on one. It certainly changes your opinion after having your own time and money invested in the venture.
The point was that Walmart is supposedly selling music by developing/independent artists. I said that I haven't seen anything like that in the Walmarts I have shopped in.
I don't think that was the point, I think the article said just the opposite.
Wal-Mart is like no traditional record seller. Unlike a typical Tower store, which stocks 60,000 titles, an average Wal-Mart carries about 5,000 CDs. That leaves little room on the shelf for developing artists or independent labels.
Sounds to me like they are saying Walmart stocks much less music than traditional music retailers so their shelves are dedicated to mainstream music they know they can sell.
From your description of the 'lock-up' problem and a previous poster saying that his device has gotten 'better' after each smack-down (longer time spans between smacks), it sounds to me like an intermittent connection in the device. Maybe a poor solder joint on a component or a connector (maybe to the hard drive) not secured properly. Have you taken yours apart and taken a look inside? Just curious.
Actually, dis-charging a Ni-Cad battery pack all the way down to zero capacity is not good because it can cause one of the cells to reverse-charge, killing that cell and most likely making the battery pack useless. In most cases a Ni-Cad battery pack quickly losing capacity is either due to overcharging or poor battery management circuitry in the device. Here are some good links for more information:
Great, it's not enough that I have to listen to every ghetto hood's 'system' that drives by, now I have to listen to every cyber-geek's mp3 collection that decides to grace my virtual presence?
We'll fight for freedom wherever there's trouble, G.I. George is there!! G.I. George, a real American hero, G.I. George is there.
Now if only Osama would start wearing a blue hood and start talking with a hissy lisp. Also get rid of that unpronounceable Arab word Al-quasadea and start calling the evil-do'er organization COBRA.
GI Joe is the codename for American's daring,
highly trained special mission force.
It's purpose, to defend human freedom against Cobra-
a ruthless, terrorist organization determined to rule the world.
Awe come on, you must not have had any previous military or government experience. In those places people come up with obfuscated names for things just so the acronym is another pronounceable (or at least pronounceable with some hidden vowels) word. That way only other people in the organization know what the hell you are talking about. Go drop in on a conversion involving two people in the military and be prepared to be completely confused (unless you yourself are in the same military).
Its interesting about the head aches - WiFi is currently operating over 2.4Ghz (the resonant frequency of water, which is a signifcant component of humans).
More pseudo-science/urban legend BS non-facts. 2.4 GHz is NOT the resonant frequency of water. Here's a link explaining why microwave ovens use ~2.4GHz, Microwave Oven Principles of Operation, which is where this so called 2.4GHz resonace seems to originate from. And here's a quote from that page for those too lazy to click the link and read.
What is significant about 2.45 GHz? Not that much. Water molecules are not resonant at this frequency. A wide range of frequencies will work to heat water efficiently. 2.45 GHz was probably chosen for a number of other reasons including not interfering with existing EM spectrum assignments and convenience in implementation. In addition, the wavelength (about 5 inches) results in reasonable penetration of the microwave energy into the food. The 3 dB (half power) point is about 1 inch for liquid water - half the power is absorbed in the outer 1 inch of depth, another 1/4 of the power in the next inch, and so forth.
Industrial ovens still often operate at 915 MHz and other frequencies near 6 GHz are also used.
Water has numerous resonances over the entire spectra range, but the lowest frequency resonance is the rotational resonance is around 24 GHz. Other resonances occur in the millimeter wave range through the infrared.
It would also be nice if OO.org could use/convert the VB macros in Word and Excel. I know a lot of small businesses that use macros and it would be nice if they could just open up the files in OO.org or do something to convert them to whatever scripting/macro language OO.org uses and keep the same functionality.
And one has to wonder why only OpenOffice.org would violate some MS patent but not KOffice. Just because MS struck some patent safety deal with Sun and left out OO.org but didn't inlcude KOffice in the wording, that doesn't automatically mean KOffice doesn't infringe on any MS patents, it just means KOffice wasn't a mentioned party in said deal.
And you know what, you cheap bastard? Next Christmas I'm sure lots of family and friends will be giving you a lump of coal and/or a box of rocks! Or maybe you'll be getting lots of unused copies of the open cd.;)
Didn't the leg pads Patrick Roy used his last couple of years have a white 'band' on the inside part of his leg so that when he went down in the butterfly position it looked like there was still an opening under his pads? Maybe it wasn't just that funny eye tick that made him such a great goaltender.

Great article on Sam Walton and the business strategies and tacticts that put Walmart where it is today.

Perhaps it is the yankees who are overrated?
I think you forgot to mention that the South will rise again. Say hi to Bo and Luke Duke for me will ya? I sure do miss those guys.
But what do you do with that rascally C that mates up with one or more O's and sometimes more exotic partners during combustion?
