Does anyone have the numbers on total money cut from those programs axed or trimmed? What percentage of the budget is actually being saved by trimming and axing these programs (not including those programs that are staying the same or having their budgets increased)?
The job of the government shouldn't be to make sure companies can make as much money as they possibly can but to protect the citizens. Net Neutrality aimed to make the playing field even for everyone. I guess he's okay with Comcast/Charter/etc reaming us.
Data collection isn't disabled; it will still send a small amount of data the settings page even links to more info that states, "Basic sends data that is vital to the operation of Windows. It helps keep Windows and apps secure, up to date, and running properly by letting Microsoft know the capabilities of your device, what is installed, and whether Windows is operating correctly. Basic includes basic error reporting back to Microsoft".
Second, I can turn off the ads but there shouldn't be ads in my OS.
Third, if I disable the windows update service I can't get updates without re-enabling it. That's not what my OS should require of me. Sure, I can (and do, along with router settings) but they're being too forceful.
I've already done so with my work machine. Unfortunately, at home I like playing games for which Linux still can't compete against Windows. They've got me by the short-and-curlies there but any machine that isn't used for gaming I've switched to *nix.
They still go too far. I have no problem the default behavior being that updates are applied automatically but what goes too far is that 1. this isn't disable-able, 2. their "Active Hours" can't be longer than 12 hours so I can assume my machine won't reboot for only 12 hours out of the day (morning OR night but can't have both), and 3. I should be able to decide what my machine does if I so choose; not Microsoft.
I really like Windows 10 aside from their automatic updates, data collection, and ads in my start menu. They all get disabled in the end but it's kind of a pain in the ass because Microsoft doesn't want me to do so. At least they can't stop my router from denying access to network services ^_^
When we replace menial jobs with specialized jobs, those people who are A) too young to have the ability or intelligence to do these new jobs or B) are too stupid to learn will still be pushed out of employability. When we replace the menial jobs, the new jobs generated can't necessarily be filled with the people who were pushed out in the first place. Not everyone is smart enough or determined enough to do anything but flip burgers and say "Hello" at Wal-Mart. Some people are just not useful and at some point either society will decide they don't deserve to be given everything or we pay them to get out of the way.
Northeast of what? Assuming you mean Northeast US, why? There's not a whole ton of sunlight; you'd probably be better pumping the solar electricity into the grid during the day. Run this type of application where there's less cloud cover and that doesn't need electricity (like deserts) and ship ethanol to where it'd be most useful (aka. fuel production plants).
You say copyright and then you say patent; pick one. This Judge is saying it's not patentable but he did not say that a specific implementation could not be copyrightable. If someone reverse engineers your software and then re-releases it as his own I'm guessing you can still sue for damages.
It's good to hear a detailed first-hand account of someone dealing with Tesla. They've always seemed to be a company who would go above and beyond to give top-notch customer service. It's good to see that's true. Once they get a model that's more in line with a normal sedan price (their current low-end models are still a bit pricey) I'd definitely (strongly) consider purchasing one.
Store your values as total cents instead of fractional dollars? The base unit is cents, not dollars, anyway. (In the US) If you're storing fractional numbers for anything that requires a specific value you're doing it wrong.
I would rather see them add RemotePlay support to PC; it works great on the PS4 the PS3 already supports it to the PS Vita; let me do the same to the PC.
Tell Facebook to host all ads on their own domain (no linking to other domains) and only use static images (no animation, flash, sound, video) and I wouldn't have a problem with ads.
Yeah, it's free for everyone who has a Netflix subscription except for those in the US? I'm not paying for another subscription; they're asking me to pirate it.
tabs are 3 characters wide and insert 3 spaces instead of 1 tab character. even on my 4k monitor. he can go to hell if he ever asks for 8 character tabs
So they said it will complement the original; is this an add-on like the 32X or the SegaCD was for the Genesis? If so, that's not so bad for current owners.

Yeah, and that seems to work wonders...

Thank you so much; that was the one thing I was hoping for and the linked article was lacking. /upvote if I had mod points!

....yeah, fuck DeBeers in their cartel ass
I believe that they only bought the cable arm so there's still a Time Warner portion that owns TV networks etc.

I think better coverage in less populated areas would help me more...
No, that would be JavaScript.

I didn't know JavaSE supported the ChromeOS platform. You learn something new every day /sarcasm

I don't know; he's better than people who start their comments in the subject line...
A GB/week is 4-5GB a month; about 5% of their cap...

9.15 trillion yen is only 86.3 billion USD
