heh, seems my lack of interest in news beyond tech is pulling a murphy on me. The pornography thing is mostly based on a supreme court decision, right? The actual law have not been changed, only the interpretation of it in court?
All the mentioned nations have their own odd laws regarding porn and sexuality.
Speaking from a Norwegians perspective, we are allowed to own porn, but one can not sell it. End result is import from Sweden.
As for sex, the minimum age is 18, tho the judge can show leniency down to 16 if both parties are of similar level of development or something like that. I think the rule of thumb is a 5 years age difference, max.
What i think has happened here is that there is one distributor handling the whole region. And when a stink was raised in Sweden, they pulled it from everywhere rather then dealing with it on a nation by nation basis.
Nokia have been cutting back on support since the Winphone agreement with MS. Hell, they have even outsourced Qt now.
The funny/sad thing about Meego, is that these days it is more Moblin (a Intel project) then Maemo. Hell, i am not even sure if the 1.2 release have transitioned to Qt as the main interface toolkit on the netbook and IVI variants (the variants that Intel focused on).
I base the claim on it being RPM based, as Maemo have been DEB based since day one. Moblin also was DEB on first release, then changed to RPM on second release.
But then the management of Maemo has been a clusterfuck since about the announcement of the N900. First they break with the ui and such that has been more or less in use since the 770 (even earlier, as the 7700 and 7710 had a similar layout but was based on symbian). This meant extra work if one wanted the software to look nice on both the N800/N810 and the N900 (few bother). Then came the purchase of Trolltech and the change to Qt. Quickly followed by the merger with Intel Moblin to create Meego. Ever since things have been in development hell. Not quite dead, but not alive either.
I am reminded of a Crash that was found to be caused by a taped over intake for the altimeter, resulting in the crew not knowing how high they where and getting, to them, odd warnings about low altitude.
Not going to have much of an effect as long as things run by "winner takes all". As long as C can ensure that either A or B get the highest percentage once the rest have spread themselves over XYZ, there is no fear to be had. Just observe the recent outcome in Canada.
And once a forum of any kind lets them in, the incumbents take their ball and move to a different venue (observer the near shutdown of WIPO once they let in groups to argue on behalf of the third world and the disabled).
Hmm, nearly a week ago. No wonder then that i could not find any reactions related to it right now.
Still, interesting that he writes that he was invited but declined as he suspect a whitewash. I wonder if the same is the case for various orgs like EFF.
That's the thing about logs i guess, if they do not generate large files (as in, are largely made up of text) they are easy to forget about until asked about.
Thankfully it seems we are getting a resurgence of the "shareware" era, this time via steam and the download channels of the xbox360 and ps3. There seems to be a massive number of experimental games coming out via those channels that are made by small teams or individuals, much like how ID Software got started by allowing the first chapter of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom to be shared.
Hmm, a classroom being a teacher in a office with a large screen tv, dotted with the webcam feeds from a multitude of rooms with kids watching. No longer any issue with the back row not being able to read the blackboard and such, and said blackboard can be dumped to their computer at end of class.
There was the opposite issue before the release of 2.6.0. 2.5.x went on virtually forever, resulting in Red Hat and others backporting more and more to their 2.4.x builds and making issue tracking a mess.
If you want stability, go with a Ubuntu LTS or Debian stable. In either case one will see patches to issues given priority over shiny new features.

That would be the artificial horizon unless i am mistaken.

Still, that only tells you where the nose is pointing vs the horizon.
AOA is a bit more complicated:

Even with a glass cockpit there is usually a small set of old school instruments.
here is a image of the a330 cockpit: http://www.bus-fahrer.com/cockpitpageDATEIEN/a320cockpit.jpg
looks to me like there is a mechanical artifical horizon and a compass on the left side of the center console area.
thunderstorm, night, over the atlantic...
Hell, this is a pattern as old as civilization. Just observe how Rome went from republic to dictatorship...

Actually the wallet app has to be unlocked by pin before use.
also, the NFC antenna is off when the screen is dark.
My thinking exactly.

Oh how France have fallen...

Actually, i think the most recent release is 2.6.39...

Accident investigations?
