I had to figure out the CompUSA password, but it only took me about three guesses.
LOL. Alternatively, since most of them don't enable the open firmware password, you could just create your own admin account.
As a resident of Atlanta, I applaud this decision. Although I have not had the greatest confidence in Gov. Purdue I think things like these are one of the main reasons why voters in this state wanted a change from the rather complacent and SI saturated govt. we've had for many years. Also, I think it will wake up the feds a little to the fact that the people have a choice, when they have entire state govts. defying their TIAesque programs.
Second, they're only 0.224 Tflops away from the only Intel-based cluster above it. So saying "all the Intel machines" in the story is kind of inaccurate
I was trying to refer to the fact that sometimes the Mac zealots, in the midst of their zealotry, lose sight of reality and simply lump all non-Mac related things into one huge category, even if it really isn't one.
These are my two best servers. Though I must admit, they have never had a severe bandwidth test. I guess its about time. Please provide other mirrors if you can.
Here you go:
If you would like to send me them through some other means since I can no longer download them, I will host them on 2 different mirrors.

Dup stories are certainly not uncommon on/., but I'm thinking Taco had way too much to drink or something. When was the last time both stories were posted by the same person?
I like Rand Mcnally's site. In my experience it often gives more detailed descriptions than Mapquest. Oh and I used Mapblast too before it became a wholly owned subsidiary of the underworld.
I hope every one isn't posted to the front page like when iTMS first came out.
Seriously, I think iTMS for WIndows is going to be much bigger than most people have given it credit for. M$ can dismiss is all they want, but unless they have something better to offer I'm not seeing much viable competition. It amazes me that after Apple overwhelmingly demonstrated to the marketplace that customers don't want subscription fees or cutthroat DRM, there are still companies out there trying to make those business models work. Oh well, meanwhile iTunes will rise to the top fast.
For all we know, they may have already started porting iTunes for Windows when iTunes 4 was first released.
Nope it was much later than that. About a month or so after iTMS for Mac came out, it was revealed that they posted an add on some job site for a project manager for the iTunes for Win port.
iTunes on OS X is pretty mature. It only uses around 5% of the CPU, very little memory, hardly ever skips even under heavy multitasking, and has none of the slow UI problems of the Windows version.
It's pretty sad when even the submitter doesn't RTFA. It clearly states at the top of the Ars page:
"Please note: this is not a review of iTunes for Windows or of the iTunes Music Store. Rather, this is an editorial on some of the challenges facing Apple now that iTunes has come to Windows."
There is a whole pre-show that we don't see where they basically get the info out of the audiance.
I'm surprised that's even necessary. The stuff is all so abstract it would probably apply to half the audience. Shit like "Someone in this area had a mother-in-law who's favorite color was red." Then someone speaks up and volunteers a whole bunch more info for him to use.
Just out of curiosity, I actually watched a few episodes of this. I'm amazed at the stupidity of people who believe even for a second it could be real. Basically the routine goes like this,
He gets this huge audience, then starts walking. Steps over to a certain area while spewing out some shit like "I'm being drawn to this area." Then for his amazing stunt to connect with someone beyond the grave, he says something like, "A prescence is telling me that someone in this area had a father who's name started with F." Some stupid person shreaks, "Oh, that's me, dear Frank, he wants to contact me, what did he tell you?"
WTF??!!
Had you any sense of intelligence, reason, or common sense at all, you would see what a joke this is. This is the most ridiculous excuse for a psychic I've ever seen.
Please do not mandate copy protection in the next generation of television signals. The move by the media industry to get this implemented is an overly restrictive ploy to limit the fair use rights of consumers in the home environment. Just as individuals today are free to record a television program for private home use, HDTV should not take away this freedom. Any detrimental or harmful activity (piracy, etc.) from having this right is greatly eclipsed by the beneficial, fair, and perfectly legitimate activities of millions of consumers. I urge you not to give in to the demands of the media industry, whose opinions are already grossly overvalued in today's marketplace.
when was the last time an MS OS gave you a free IDE?
Not to mention the best one. Of course I'm biased, but IMO Xcode is 10 times better than VS. Things like fix and continue, pure genius.

I thought the .Mac coupon said it couldn't be used with any other discount.
Mod this Father Pudge Oday wannabe down into oblivion.

GNU Tar. That was the format he sent it to me in. I suppose I could change it.
Well presumably, any gateway that delivers significant amounts of spam to AT&T will be removed from the white list and added to the black one.
And how exactly is this different from the current system?

You can read the memos, search the memos, or download the memos.
That is, until they were posted to the Slashdot homepage.

iTunes takes up 25% CPU doing visulization+mp3, WMP hovers around 12%
There's a reason for that. Watch them both for a while. WMP visuals seriously suck compared to iTunes.

I take it back and apologize to the submitter, who did an excellent review. Michael you are annoying me even more than you usually do.

I'm sure Baystar would appreciate some public reaction to this decision.
How about we fire off a few emails to their contact address.
