You might be out of luck searching US patents. Who said it wasn't a Guatemalese... Guatemalian... Guatemal... Goatse... Agh! Okay. Let me rephrase: Who said anything about it being a US patent?
I don't think their performance would degrade significantly, frankly. The Intel architecture is good, but Windows has at least in the past been lacking.
Merg! I'm stuck in a bad karma ditch and I can't get up. The moderators probably all read at 0+ and miss my -1 comments. I'm never going to be moderated up in this way. Slash admins, with this system you're just begging for me to register a new account.
Replying to myself, what I was trying to point out about this is that Intel could probably just remove their emulation layer, remap the instruction set, switch a few registers around and not start entirely from scratch in creating a PowerPC compatible chip.
I understand that Intel's processors have actually featured a RISC arcitecture for a long time, but they run a CISC emulation layer on top of it. Some information about RISC vs CISC can be found here, and some info on the CISC emulation in Intel chips here.
Ah! One of those? I couldn't tell it this time around. The bot check is definitely not doing it's job. I see the check is gone? Or did I just get a higher Karma? Can anyone verify?
Well I personally feel that 90% of what I was taught in school was BS that I'm never going to use for the rest of my life, and heck, I write computer programs. They could've just compressed all the essential bits down to a few years. The only useful things school taught me are:
- To read and write - Basic arithmetics - Trig - English
Computers taught me so much more. School just seems to be a giant waste of time and tax money in my opinion, at least the systems most commonly implemented.
This is off topic, but have you ever thought about the fact that doors are rendered useless by windows? Breaking into a house with windows is the simplest thing on the planet. The only preventive effect a window has is the noise it makes when it breaks. Heck if I'm a neighbour and I hear glass breaking in the middle of the night, the last thing I'm gonna do is get involved. Doors are mere symbolism. You might as well put up a sign that says "Please don't walk into my house."
Ah, currently modded as troll... Don't see why. Isn't a troll post one that is purposely outfitted with outrageous statements in order to provoke as many people into angrily answering? Mods: That's not what I was attempting. I am actually siding with the guy getting attacked.

Hehe. I bet he'd handle that just like he handled that blue screen in that Windows 95 demo video. Laughing it off, or saying something like "Ah, hehe, I've tried Firefox. Our product is better, but thanks for the shirt."

Us artists suffer from something called "lazy hand" in which you leave out details which have no relevance to what you're drawing...
Argh! Slashdot's bot check suffers from that stupid problem of using such a stupid font that not even humans can read it. This is my 3rd try to get this posted.

No wonder it didn't work if you're using Windows 98. Here, let me show you a screeshot that I just took from Windows XP.
You sir are clever.
I suffer from it too. It's a curse, I tell you. A curse!

Why is this modded a troll? What he says is true!

So what he's saying is wrong? I don't recall reading anything about the scientists in that project suffering any long term effects?

Haha! Listen to this clip, folks! It's funny!
Sarge coming? Will it come with Duke Nukem Forever? And will it support the Phantom console?
Apparently, you only have to do it if you're a bad person.
Opera's default behaviour is to pretend that it's Internet Explorer. I imagine several oher browsers do the same.
Oh god... The "confirm you're not a script" thing is just getting worse and worse. I can barely read that fucking thing!!
That was my immediate thought as well. Sounds just like the stylus of a tablet.

... 'course I had to forget to hit the Post Anonymously button. Oh well, maybe I'm lucky and this'll actually increase my karma. *dreams*
No. Please go kill YOURself. 9_9 (I am not the grandparent poster, I'm siding with him... Geez this place is full of assholes.)
