Any word on whether Red Hat Enterprise 6 will be based on this release or Fedora 9?
Crickets...
I'm getting the impression it will more likely be f10 or possibly even f11 (or... aaargh). RHEL 6 is taking FOREVER to get moving. I bet it has something to do with readiness of the Fedora code base to be beat into shape for for prime time being somewhere between "poor" and "damn poor" for the string of Fedoras from 4 through 9.

Fedora 10 Released

· Score: 1
It hasn't been called Fedora Core for quite a while. It's just Fedora now.
It's crazy-fast. It handles like a jet fighter. It gets the equivalent of about 140 mpg. It has no gears...
That may have been true at one time, but in its latest incarnation, it has a gearbox with two forward speeds, because low speed acceleration was wanting. The gearbox has proved to be its achilles heel. They have not been able to make it durable enough to last more than a short time.
Maybe, like Nickolai Tesla, they were just destined to have a great beginning but go nuts toward mid life.
Nikola Tesla had a uniquely staggering natural insight. He was almost single handedly responsible for AC and polyphase power systems, and the AC motor; and made great contributions to ballistics, radio, radar, robotics, remote control, nuclear physics.
Tesla was a millionaire at 40 (when a million dollars was an astounding amount of wealth), and would have been the world's first billionaire had he not torn up his contract with Westinghouse because of his social conscience.
I hardly think Tesla Motors can be compared with Nikola Tesla, but at least they recognize his greatness, and the fact that he invented a key part of the technology that enabled their dream.
Tesla isn't going belly up. They are waiting with further developing their Sedan until they can get a cheaper loan. next year or so.
Ha ha ha. And the economy is basically sound. Elvis and Hoffa are alive. Oswald just came up with the idea to kill Kennedy out of the blue. Bush's advisers are competent. The Taliban are going to realize the error of their ways. Iraq as a muslim state is going to be so much more friendly and peaceful than the secular dictatorship was. The billionaire's bailout will make everything all better. Sending all of our industry overseas will improve our economy. Obama is the Messiah. Things are really going to change now. Duke Nukem Forever is almost ready. Vista was a great achievement and everybody loves it.
At that high an altitude, if you get clouds/ fog, you can run into a mountain at 10,000 feet, even if you're a good pilot ( who forgot to check his map).
WTF? A good pilot doesn't "forget" to check his map - or forget anything else safety related.
but because its possibe and it would reduce the need for fuel by at least 50 percent, the current politic will not allow it.
Yeah, it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that turbines and ultracapacitors are ridiculously expensive, turbines have a very small number of spin-up/down cycles before requiring expensive maintenance (on the bearings, primarily), and that electric drive systems get very poor fuel efficiency at highway speeds.
And that turbines in these tiny sizes are RIDICULOUSLY inefficient.
Iron is one of the most abundant elements on the planet.
Actually iron is less abundant than aluminum, but it has the advantage of being readily mined, refined, and made into structural steel.
The earth's crust is 61% silica, 16% alumina, 7% rust (iron oxide component of iron ore), 6% line, 5% magnesia, and 5% other stuff. The reason aluminum alloy does not predominate in the structures we build has more to do with the difficulty of smelting, refining, alloying, and heat treating it than its suitability. The mirror image is the great ease of producing ready to use steel I-beams from raw iron ore.
The "Truthers" (as they call themselves) are trying to cope with this in a unique way where they will relentlessly seek the truth--to a fault. They won't ever be satisfied because the attacks were so inconceivable that there must be an equally outrageous explanation for them. Occam's Razor is not in their reasoning kit anymore.
Nonsense. The "truthers" are not seeking the truth in any way, shape, or form. All they are "seeking" is ways to warp the facts beyond recognition to support their neurotic preconception.
Seeking truth is what science and religion are about. They have different ways of judging it. I suppose one could make the case that the truthers are a bizarre, benighted, and perverse form of cult, but they are in no sense scientists.
Why does anyone think this would be to their benefit? If it were introduced, the phone companies would just increase the per-second charges to make up for the revenue they "lost" by more accurate accounting.
That is a ludicrously BAD job of kerning. In fact, I think it's a complete absence of any attempt at proper kerning, but if it's just a lousy attempt at kerning, it's laughable. It doesn't do KDE any good when people's first reaction on seeing it is to burst out laughing, or gag with nausea, on seeing the default fonts.

64210 doesn't seem like a very low user number at all any more :-o
According to Red Hat's presentation at SC08 last week, Enterprise 6 will be base on Fedora 11.
2010 then? Late 2009 would be pushing it a bit.
Any word on whether Red Hat Enterprise 6 will be based on this release or Fedora 9?

Comcast has given them the finger too. Yay.
Clinton is not commonly held to be particularly leftist, if the word even has much meaning.
You're right. Use of simplistic labels is the last refuge of a scoundrel, and the FIRST refuge of a typical brain dead American citizen.
+1, insightful
Absolutely. ARM9 absolutely rocks.
Wil Shipley of Delicious Monster test drove a Tesla and wrote about it in his blog.
Here is part of what he had to say about:

You're cracking a joke, right? He's dead, Jim. Stick a fork in it.

Bwahaha. And you really believe there isn't some black op center set up for which this Air Force thing wasn't a shield/misdirection?
Doesn't matter what the excuse is, if the Feds want something they have to produce a valid warrant.
You're new here, aren't you.
Yes, he needs a break so much. Poor guy.
Yeah. Way to carry water there.
Why does anyone think this would be to their benefit? If it were introduced, the phone companies would just increase the per-second charges to make up for the revenue they "lost" by more accurate accounting.
Why? Because they are stupid.

Stupid headline. Usenet is still there. Stupid idiots who are slaves to only what their ISP spoon feeds them may drop off. So what.
