10 years or so ago, AMEX had "Private Payments", where you could generate a single-use number for a transaction. The number was valid for a single transaction and expired in two days or so.
Then they dropped the service. I never figured out why.
I once worked with a headhunter. When I talked with them, one of the things I made clear was that I did not know DB, had no experience with DB, and they should not send me on any interviews for DB work.
So they send me on an interview. Three minutes into the interview, I'm apologizing for wasting their time. The assholes sent me to a job interview for a DBA post.
Just so you'll know, it was Blessed Holy Saint Ronald Reagan who established in-state tuition for UC. Before Reagan's tenure as governor, UC had no tuition for CA residents.
Not in California. The politicians f**cked with the "open primary" so that yeah, you can vote for anyone in the primary, but only the two top vote-getters get on the final ballot. Oh, Two Dems made the cut? Sucks for you GOP's or Libertarians, doesn't it?
So, I should pay $X + N to get a service is advertised for $X?

Quoth Cardinal Richilieu:
If one would give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest man, I would find something in them to have him hanged.
In-state tuition of the University of California is over $10K per year. My daughters averaged $27K (ncluding room and board) per year.
The precondition should be that TW and Comcast do not merge at all.
Don't forget the "Ancient Unix" source.
Though with the SCOundrels' demise, it may not be available any more.

Kind of like Toyota's slogan
"Toyota... Moving forward.... Even when you're jamming on the brakes!"
The 10 percent approval/90 percent retention is...
All those other assholes in Congress suck, but MY Congresscritter is a good guy.
+1.
The sad part is that some idiots will not see the implied <SARCASM> tags.
What's the difference between a bad golfer and a bad skydiver?
One goes WHAP! Damn!
The other goes DAMN! WHAP!!!!
I don't necessarily agree with editing posts, but it would be nice to post a correction and not have to wait 5 minutes to do so.
Except that you have to wait for 5 minutes to amend it.
Clearly then, the next generation version control system should be named "Sexy Flanders".
Uh, actually, it was a derived requirement. "Must have military test pilot experience" *WAS* a requirement.
Since the military did not allow women to be test pilots, "Must urinate via a penis" was a derived requirement.
If it's derived from name/birthdate/gender, what happens if you have two men named "Johann Schmidt" who were born on the same date?
The Ford agency does escort service now?? COOL!!!!!
I was referring to their blatant purchase of Congress.
But your comment WAS funny as all hell.
Easy way to solve the "prisoner shortage".
Put Congress, Wall Street Execs, and Hollywood execs into prison.
I installed it in a VM. Or should I say, I *TRIED* to install it in a VM....
Granted, this was on an old Core2 Duo machine, or something like that.
DOH! Never mind. I was using a 5 minute charge cycle (which is what GP used)
My math shows 714kW, which is a more reasonable, but not by much .7 * 85kWh/5min * 60min/hr = 714kW
