Let x be 0.99999....
x = 0.9999....
10x = 9.9999...
10x - x = 9.9999... - 0.9999... = 9
10x - x = 9 (the infinite trail of nines drop off in the subtraction)
^-- this step is artificially inflates the value of 10x, in reality this would be 8.99999999999999...1
So the question herein lies, what happens when you shift an infinitely repeating decimal 1 place to the left? Does it magically gain a new decimal place on the right? This may happen, but that violates the basic laws of normal numbers. These mechanics of an infintely repeating decimal cannot be used as the basis of a algebraic proof.
Because you're not saying.9999.. = 1, you're saying: 9.999... -.999... = 9 but 9.9999... is not 10(.99999...)
10(.99999...) has one less decimal place on the right than 9.9999... But still an infinite amount of decimal places. Just because they're both infinite doesn't mean it's not a smaller infinity.
Can this generate enough electricity to power harvesting of the plants? Or will we need to end up burning tons of diesel to furtilize and harvest the biomass used to generate power.... *snort*
From apple's website: "the new iPod has been redesigned to be even thinner and lighter, weighing less than two CDs."
How is 5.6 ounces "LARGE"? The battery life is about 8 hours of play. And I don't ever have to change my batteries. It's lithium ion battery charges up every time I put it in it's docking station.

I guess I was incorrect. Though, I seem to remember reading an article about it some time ago. However, there is a lot of debate about the practice. You can find more information on google about it if you search for "Ability grouping."
According to those sites, the problem isn't so much that the practice itself is illegal, but that it many times yields illegal results under the Civil Rights Acts.
I think it's a load of crap, having experienced classes at both "levels" due to school transferring.
SBC should have never been allowed to become the huge conglomerate it is! They own Pacific bell and Nevada bell now, and possibly some others.
I've pretty much been forced to be an SBC DSL customer. For anything beyond their basic service, that they want you to have, they charge extravagant rates.
Originally they were only charging you for the circuit which was 39.95. If you wanted to go with another ISP they still made their 39.95, and you had to pay for the other ISP service which was usually 20 dollars more on top of that!
This is still the case for their über basic 384 kbps DSL. If you want 128kbps/1.5Mbit you have to have 10 dollars extra. ( They recently added the lower step in and made that the basic, and bumped every body else's bills up )
It's a bunch of *bleep*ing *bleep*! Where's our VDSL? I bet they wouldn't sell it for a decent price even if they did implement it.
Real life slashdotting! Wow! We just flash mobbed their website!

This really wouldn't be all that effective for brail terminals.
Brail characters are in a completely different shape than on screen characters.. And as you noticed fonts are several lines high here.
Might be able to do something with it, but it would take a ton of concentration to visualize anything using this on a brail terminal.
Plus people would need to understand what the latin characters looked like.
I have to agree, this is bogus. If nobody has seen this so called source code of theirs then how can they prove it's theirs in the first place?
I think they're stealing code from Linux and claiming it's theirs.
Anybody look at that website? Hell yes! They have value email boxes! I think i'll go right ahead and buy an email account from them! It's _ONLY_ $9.95/yr!!!!!!!! They would never thinking of spamming their own customers! Right?... Right?...
