  5. Re:Bleder UI is great. on Blender 2.34 Released · · Score: 1
First and foremost is the inability to set your own hotkeys.
Not really an issue to do with the logic of te controls, something that could certainly be better and as you mention something that is being worked on.
Next on the list would have to be mouse controls. I have been using Blender on and off for several years and I did not know until the LAST RELEASE (keep in mind I got into Blender around .9) that the left mouse button had gestures assigned to it. WHAT THE HELL? There's a reason mouse gestures haven't taken off, they're completely unintuitive.
Again not really a logic problem.
The parameter value boxes also make no sense. You can click and drag to change the value, but the sensitivity is fucked so you end up overshooting your target by about 30,000.
Also not a logic problem, this seems more of a sensitivity problem, perhaps an option in the preferences to alter the mouse/button drag sensitivity would be useful.
You can manually type in the amount you want, but it requires a SHIFT-click to do so. Not once have I ever remembered I have to hold shift. Every damn time, I click on the field expecting it to just let me type the damn number in. Grah.
I don't really see this as illogical either. Maybe not the best choice, but not illogical.
The way most of the modeling tools works is illogical... and not having edge tools is just fucking stupid (same goes for Lightwave).
I guess I'm not the best person to try and defend the modeling tools of any 3d design package as I'm a tinkerer at best so I wont even try :)
I do mention the above points as they aren't really the tools themselves but the interface.
A lot of the issues you mention seem to be because the interface behaves differently to most of the other 3d packages around.
I'm not trying to be an annoying pedant, it comes naturally to me ;), it's just that you were complaining about illogical controls.

In my experience this is indeed true. But I also have to say that I've only really had things break during major package upgrades and even then only for a few days at most AND even then the majority of the stuff I use still works fine, it's just a few minor packages that have issues.

Of course having said that I've probably just been luckier than most :)

What ropes and chains, moron? You can't take something out of the public domain once it's there.
So I guess we'll get to see all the improvements that Jaleco make to the source then? Of course not, their derivative work is not free and it's not in the public domain. Sure the original is still string free, but the derived work isn't.
*That* is the point that was being made.
Then again, you're too stupid to comprehend the fact that he doesn't care that Jaleco used his code
Again you seem to miss the point. The writer of the emulator states he released it into the public domain so that it will be completely free and the poster you were replying to simply asked how it can be completely free if it can then be derived into a closed project.
  15. Just don't force me to sneak on Hide and Go Sneak - The Rise Of Stealth Gaming · · Score: 1

Sneaking is a nice option, but IMO it should be just that, an option.
Also if I get caught sneaking, then give a chance to fight my way out of the situation. For example in LoZ: The Wind Waker at the forsaken fortress there are sections where you have to sneak past some moblins. If you are seen then you get taken to a holding area with no chance to try fighting the moblin. This is only a mild example however.
A more annoying example is Jedi Knight 2 : Outcast. In particular the Cairn - Docking Bay level. Geez I'm supposed to be some kind of uber jedi-wannabe with a huge pile of weapons and yet if some git hits the alarm panel I don't get the chance to fight my way out. I don't care if the game designer decides to send 10 times as many enemies at me if the panel is activated just give the chance to fight my way to freedom.
