I guess being a created-by-legislature, public-benefit company, run by political appointees means that you don't actually have to server your customers.....
It's going to be fun when these people are scheduling and performing surgery!
The expansion to a "societal scale" is the problem. It's the difference between me helping the guy up, and me hiring a bunch of goons to hold guns to other people's heads to force them to help him up.
But the point of your original post, and of mine, was that we can agree to disagree, and go our separate ways.
If you're only using this TV to connect to your computer, then 120Hz doesn't do you any good. Unless you can get the computer to output 24Hz while watching Bluray. The inputs on all TVs still only accept up to 60Hz.
Fascinating... Although I don't need/want the storage backend to be in the TV as well. Also I clicked through to the company's site and they don't seem to be making these anymore.
One of the biggest failures of this system is with the HTTPS protocol, which is a huge problem for a number of reasons. It's also one that "regular people" might have a shot at understanding.
Here in Texas we have Dreyer's (although we buy Blue Bell instead). I was doing a crossword puzzle and "Ben & Jerry rival" came out as "Edy". I thought I had something terribly wrong, but now it makes sense.

Is your movie almost done?
That sounds like a great idea to me. You can go have your socialist paradise and leave the rest of us out of it. How can we make this happen?
But that's what insurance is.
I was going to post on this article, but I think you've said it all.
I expect your post will be highly rated for the actual duration of this discussion, but will probably suddenly drop to "0, Troll" in about three days.
I expect that will involve HE charging me. What will I be getting for my money?
You expect wrong.
And what reason do we have to believe this isn't a just negotiating tactic against Microsoft?
It ain't the kernel that's slow and bloated about either Windows or Linux.
Who should I make the check out to?

Is there such a thing as a TV that can run mythfrontend? That would be sweet beyond words.
Not that I am at ALL a fan of these sweetheart deals, but isn't it the government that's reneging here, not the corporation?
Crimeny.

...fills me with an absence...
Mind-blowing, man.
But all the encrypted data in the wild that's considered safe because it's encrypted would have to be considered compromised, right?
What about all the backup tapes or laptops that are stolen, but we don't worry about it because the data was encrypted?
Today we don't consider that data to have been compromised. But in the not-too-distant future it could be cracked instantly.
Do we have a plan for when one day, our current methods of encryption all become breakable at once?
"Now correct me if I'm incorrect, but was I told it's untrue that people in Springfield have no faith? Was I not misinformed?"
Eight hours from the nearest city? Where could this be?
Sounds interesting; what does it mean?
Aren't they still doing it? I know Earthlink is. Morons.
Not one of these features is remotely compelling enough to switch an existing, working app from MySQL.
