They can't enforce a bloody fuck. How mony of the kernel developers are going along with it? It takes ONE major kernel contributor and a little funds tu make this licensing sheme go dodo.
What if that sign is in the middle of a billboard? Banner ads are not dialog windows, nor do they act like dialog windows. They are just similar in looks.
Stop trolling will you? GIMP is good enough for most image manipulation most people will have to and will be able to make. There is a subset of printing jobs done by profesionals where Photoshop is NEEDED.
Compare Cinepaint to Photoshop and suddenly the "best tool for the job" isn't that clear anymore. Photoshop is not the all end of all image manipulation jobs.
Get someone to pay you before you start formulating your idea. Nobody should be compansated for wasting his time.

No, unlike you RMS knows the difference between a kernel and an OS.

"Not if you're trying to make money selling your software product - you have to resort to support contracts and whatnot."
What if I would tell you that a certain someone was making money selling Emacs tapes?
"Because, unlike RMS, most people have to make money to survive. He's got a hefty grant to support his work."
He started his work before having any grants and earned them.
"I vote for Subversion. I guess the distributed repository things would be a problem though."
There is always arch.
"Communist Replublic of the USA"
You mean United Sovyet America?
The point was that no one can control GPL'ed software, which (most) big companies don't like.
Sadly you will never get to Redhat...
So why would I want a windows machine again?
I know that it is possible to defend yourself against a knife. Try that against someone 10m away from you who has a gun.
Without the GPL you can't redistribute the code, so by your definition the GPL is what makes copyrighted code useful. Yet you claim it's restricting.
How is it illegal to download from a copyright holder?
You can use it without restrictions. Additional rights are granted on redistribution. I see no restrictions anywere.
But the GPL'ed code does not insert itself into someone elses code so it's NOT viral.
Mechanime is anime with giant robots.
Linux support is in beta.
There is no such thing as intelectual property.
GTK apeared because they needed a toolkit for gimp.
