    Stop trolling will you? GIMP is good enough for most image manipulation most people will have to and will be able to make. There is a subset of printing jobs done by profesionals where Photoshop is NEEDED.

    Compare Cinepaint to Photoshop and suddenly the "best tool for the job" isn't that clear anymore. Photoshop is not the all end of all image manipulation jobs.

    Without the GPL you can't redistribute the code, so by your definition the GPL is what makes copyrighted code useful. Yet you claim it's restricting.

    You can use it without restrictions. Additional rights are granted on redistribution. I see no restrictions anywere.
