Oh, and it's a refurb, which allowed me to get a fairly well-spec'd unit (2.5GHz/1033MT, 4GB 800MHz RAM, DVD/BD-ROM combo drive, Radeon 3650 GPU, Vista Ultimate) for way less than half what a 17in MacBook pro costs in its least expensive configuration.
So what are you suggesting? That kids' possession of cell phones, watching of pro rasslin' and Chuck Norris be banned? That knowledge of how to get pregnant be withheld from kids until they are of legal age?
You cannot legislate to account for poor parenting supervision or juvenile stupidity. When you attempt to do so, you end up with a society in which the laws for everyone are tailored toward the most ignorant and poorly-raised child. Is this the sort of society you want to live in?
This is good advice. I find NYCL's posts quite interesting and informative as it is, but it being the case that IANAL, there is little doubt but that a bit of elucidation on his part would be very helpful.
Not so. All the Sprint PDAs can be put into service with plans as inexpensive as $70, including data, SMS, and nav.
It's only the SE plan (unlimited voice) that cost $100.
First the Aqua Teen thing, now this.
I think the MA State Police need to spend more time training on real antiterrorism techniques and less time looking at movies, or something.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they have officers in boats circling Logan to protect against sharks with laser beams on their heads.
So B&N basically runs the stores for the Society, probably on some percentage-of-profits basis, and the Society is probably much less involved on an ongoing basis in setting specific store policies. Hm.
Never mind. Apparently the Coop still exists and owns, well, the Coop. I do seem to remember getting something about them doing a deal with some big bookseller though.
I went to the World's Greatest Engineering University (tm), which also had Coop branches, back in the 80s. I seem to remember getting something from the Cooperative Society some years ago saying they were selling out to some big retailer, or something.
Since I no longer shop there and no longer get a rebate check, I tossed it in the trash and pretty much forgot about it.
Anyone know anything about this?
I only ask because I doubt that the Coop would have adopted this policy if it were still a co-op owned by the students of Harvard and the Institute.
I am glad someone finally pointed this out. ATT's EDGE implementation is practically capable of, what, maybe 2x dialup speeds or less? Not something *I'd* spend much time browsing anything other than text-based sites on.
We are turning into a nation of (pantywaists). Sigh.

Home and Home Office does not have a 17"
Hunh? I am typing this on my Dell Studio 1737, which is available in the Dell home section. http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/laptop_studio_17?c=us&cs=19&l=en&ref=lthp&s=dhs There's also the Studio XPS 16, almost as big....

There are VoIP clients for WinMo and S60 devices. Not open source, but freely available.
