But from what i've heard, they are more trouble than they're worth. The quality is low, so they go out often. they draw less power than normal bubls, and so blinkers blink too fast, or the car thinks the bulb is out because it's "not drawing power"
Ok, to update you. Firstly, I was wrong about the transfer limit. It's 30 Gig/mo, not 10.
And a summary: Posting an MP3 to/. isn't total suicide. A brief summary: 3:40am, posted mp3 to slashdot.... http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid= 145589&cid=121 92363
4:30 am...~half gig transfered.
I just woke at 12:45, 3.44 GB transfered...still pleanty far from my 30 gig cap. and I'm expecting the traffic to taper off because this story is old, and no longer at the top of the front page...
and their name starts with an M. Microsoft maybe? I don't remember. NDAs have a way for making me forget details.
Anyway, doing regression testing is a 2 edged sword. 1. You have to program more stuff into your program to allow for automation. Now, because you're adding another feature to the entire program, that means more testing to ensure that the added functionality actually works. Lastly, you have to hire/write regression scripts. How much time does it take to write scripts? How long will they be useful for? If it takes ~the same time/money to write scripts as to hire/be the monkey...How much is that worth?
2. It can be a big convenience if you can justify #1.
I did some community college during nights while in HS. It worked out to be a blessing becuase I walked onto campus with ~30 units, while everyone else was at 0. It gave me early registartion. And it really helps for the basic classes that everyone else is fighting for.
I'd gladly pay a feww dollars/month to download TV eps (sans commericals)- if I don't have to mess with torrents (and it comes down at my full 3meg/sec)
Humm, thats a good point tho that lighter vehicles do less damage to the roads. And as a result, I agree with you that they should pay less than larger vehicles (SUVs).
But the bottom line that society as a whole needs to understand is that we need to decrease our net energy usage.
Just a side note about smaller vehicles having less "Wear and tear". My father purchased a 2001 Honda Insight. I changed the oil to synthetic at ~5k mile, and never did any other maintence since (not even rotating tires). After 25k miles, the front tires had worn to 2/32, rears still had signifant tread- they wore pretty well, especially if you consider that they were never rotated.
I'm not giving you crap about buying gas for social good.
My crap is that when you buy gas/diesel, you are paying for the roads and such- because that is the primary use of gas. Such taxes aren't factored into electric taxes because electricity isn't consumed primarily on public roads. Those who currenetly use grid power for the road are short changing society, because they are not paying for road maintence. But the number of these people are insignifant compared to the sum total of cars on the road, so we need not worry about them *yet*.
Well, "normal prostetics" are quite impressive at times.
My Dad used to have a co-worker who lost his leg to cancer in his 20's. He walked fairly well, minus the slight awkardness (more like a limp). If you saw him around the office, you'd assume he had a bad day of tennis, not a missing leg.
I imagine the leg would act like a "normal" prostetic, and only give power in short burstsm to help you up a slope or a flight of stairs. The rest of the time, it would recharge the battery (hopefully that doesn't weigh too much).
Let me define a few things for you: Internet: Public network Slashdot: Private network run by geeks, for geeks.
Anything we say on slashdot is a private mattter. Whew! Thus, I can say the following words without fear. Terrorist Communist McCarthy Bush Dick Cheney Kennedy Assination Bin Laden Sadam Cuba Fidel Castro
Then maybe you should order this.
there are also LED lights for cars now too.
like for parking lights, not your main headlight.

yet another reason to live with the 2 bozos...erick took up smoking again. guess his "i'm quitting" wasn't too long lived.
still haven't signed anything yet...you mind if i sleep in your kitchen next year?
woot! it pays to not be a steller student.
Univ of Calif, Riverside...see? they only go after the big schools, not us "well, yea, all the other UCs told me to go away"
Grump.
I'll take your offer:
Win 98 + 5 dollars. Do you also offer free ship? Or do I need to send a SASE?

It's about the principle of making an MP3 revolution...and hoping we don't get sued by the RIAA for distributing an MP3.
I've never come close to my limit of 10 gig/month...and if i do, its ok cuz nobody visits anyway...
A MP3! OH WOW! I hope the bastards at the RIAA don't mind it!
I found it a while back.

One more thing to add.

I'm moving to Antarctica. I can trust my fellow penguins.
but i use quicktime alternative...and it works!
Same reason why Hitler couldn't take over Russia.
I'm an XM subscriber, and I fear XM going that way too...commericals.
Right now, even their 100% commerical free music channels have commericals, it's just that they're for their own "stations", and not gotomypc.com.
I'd gladly pay a feww dollars/month to download TV eps (sans commericals)- if I don't have to mess with torrents (and it comes down at my full 3meg/sec)

Ok, so gas is 4.5/gal and electricity is 6c/kwh.
However, the price if gas includes taxes that go for the common good of society- mainly road work.
With using electric only, you aren't paying your share to society, but you are using the roads.
+1, not being a jackass.

Another poster mentioned that this may actually be the OEM version of the iPod shuffle.
Since it has nearly identical hardware, it might work with iTunes?
