When will these companies realize, that in order for paid downloads to catch on, they must provide a BETTER service than the free stuff. This is still more restrictive than any of the P2P. If I download a song from P2P, I can do whatever the !@#% I want with it. Although this is much better than some of the other services, they still have a long way to go. Also, the library needs to be about 10 times that size.
At times like this, I realize that we nerds, are not the only ones that hate Microsoft. Many foriegn governments hate them as well. Lets not forget that Microsoft is taking a lot of heat in Europe as well. While I do not think that this is the way to go about implementing open source, I think that Microsoft is getting its just deserts. This will not last long however. It is only a matter of time befor Microsoft buys these governments, just like it bought the US government.
I know that they can build 8 gig hard drives the size of a credit card. (slightly thicker though) I wonder when they are going to start using them in PDA's?
Free speech, only applies to that SPEACH. There is no clause in the constituion that protects spammers in anyway. There is no freedom of the press issue either, this is HARASSMENT!
Since the Xrays bounce OFF of the skin and do not go through it, it shouldn't be a hazard. Also, you are only bombarded for a second or two. Even for frequent flyers, a couple of seconds a week should not hurt anybody.
I can't even count how many educational institutions use QBASIC to teach programming. With QBASIC, you can learn the fundamentals very easily, and that is why it is still used. Granted, these fundamentals are being taught in junior high and sometimes at high school. If he is reading about QBASIC he probably isnt a skilled programmer and he is just starting out, and that is what he needs to do, start with QBASIC.
I was in the same situation that you are in. This is what I had to do:
1. Find a sponsor for the club. (a computer science instructor is a good choice)
2. Find a purpose for the club. (I live in rural Illinios and I was able to find 3 different computer competitions for high school clubs.)
DareDevil was a hell of a lot better than spiderman. At least Ben Affleck LOOKED like a super hero. Toby McGuire looks like he is 12. Peter Parker LOOKED like a college student. (If you are complaining about Kingpin being black, consider this: how many white actors were large enough to play the part, let alone have acting ability?)
When I was in the fifth grade, we had to copy the definitions of our spelling words out of our book. It would take me about and hour to do the assignment, and another 3 hours after my mom checked it to make sure that it was EXACTLY right. I finally started lying to her and telling her that I didn't have to do them, so she wouldn't check them. (but still doing the assignment) When I turned in my definitions I still got a 100%. After this I almost always lied to my parents about my homework.
