when a car ran into my moped last year - the car sustained a broken headlight cover. My bike was trashed beyond repair and I received a broken arm, a pair of badly scarred and bruised knees etc etc... except for pedestrians, I think mopeds only harm their riders...
The saddest part about that is that in most cases (mine included) the car driver was a fault - she just wasn't paying attention and lurched out of a blind alley...
I bought an m505 when they were first released (mid 2001), then I bought a collapsable keyboard some time later.
This has allowed me to take notes for all my classes (using docs to go), which I can then sync when I get home.
I can sync my Palm addresses with my Ericsson T29m phone (which I can also use to remote sync email / news[via AvantGo])
For mp3 playing, I have a tiny Creative one - very basic with about 96MB storage, but ideal for the ultra light traveller
Trust me, a lap top might be well and good - but it doesn't fit in your pocket (along with the keyboard) when you're on a motorcycle.
The cost vs my needs balances out better than I'd hoped. OK so I have 3 devices plus a keyboard, but they're smaller in overall dimension than any laptop, and have the all the functions that I need. (a mate of mine uses his PalmVNC to remote admin his UNIX boxes).
Cheers, Jimstone
Well my girlfriend works for Jaycar Electronics - a retail chain of stores through out Australia and New Zealand where the POS system runs under Linux, and all Office stuff is accomplished using Open Office.
With over 30 branches in operation, I think that qualifies it as a company with more than 30 staff.
Hope that helps!

Nah We kiwis have sheep too - we're outnumbered 10:1 or more by 'em... time was when you couldn't cross the road without tripping over a few.
At least it was a soft... woolly landing...
Perhaps the downloader desires only entertainment deemed freely distributable.
The trouble with that is that it is the right of the copyright holder to decide what is and what isn't freely distributable. The law upholds that right.
As a musician who is not beholden to some contract or other, I own the rights to my music. However I then choose to allow free distribution of it via the web in mp3 form, as long as y'all keep the tags intact (in keeping with personal vanity 'n all that).
Personally, I reckon that in a few decades, the record companies may be completely irrelevant to the music industry. Success is often about having the right product at the right price, and for many - a free mp3 satisfies both of those parameters. Personally, I like to read the notes on the CD liner.. call me old fashioned :)

In fact NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge rate than the humble NiCd cells do.
But Corn is sweet - does that, by your definition make it a Fruit? And I defey anyone to enjoy eating tamarillos raw (They're a fruit apparently)
Interestinly Norman Davis in his book "Europe a History" calls Europe a Peninsula.
Gee you're right!

I've still got an AWE32 in an old Linux box, and an SB Live! in the newer box I use.
Surely you're only jealous because the French made a better attempt at DEMOCRACY than America?

As long as they don't get tacky and include a video-phone in the hi-tech loo of the future!
