Quantum Mechanics is a terrible term in and of itself, and essentially every part of it is handicapped by having equally terrible names applied thereof.
Enter Quantum Bogodynamics - everything else is bogus!
When will you arogant euro-elites realise there is no such thing as European Chocolate!?
The concept is just at pointless as American Champagne or Irish Whisky!
To the best of my knowlege, cacao is predominantly grown in south/central America and central Africa (anyway, atleast not in Europe, unless French Guiana counts).
As a matter of fact, American (more specifically Trinitaian and other Caribean) chocolate is internationally regarded as the very best by "people who know".
That said, for all those humour impared (US-residents as well as continental Europeeans and Irishmen), this post is attempting to express sarkasm, without the use of smileys. If you still don't find it funny - that's your problem...
A (near) historical reality check: Sales of porn mag's are heavily restricted in most countries (more than alcohol, in some). They certainly were when I was a teenager (which was way before games like GTA). Still I remember "reading" quite a few of them before i turned the proper age, despite the fear of being "grounded" for life, had my parents caught me reading them.
Point being: it didn't do any permanent damage - I grew up, graduated and married, just like "everybody else"...
If you spent the same amount of time learning about the phenomena at hand as you do to find dictionary quotes supporting your own preconceived ideas, you would find that you, your self, have just proved that the USSR was never a socialist country - it's in the details of point #3, which would be the only possible normative definition of socialism. The USSR never fulfilled Marx's definition of socialist society, mainly because the unequal distribution mentioned was never "from each and everyone after ability, to each and everyone after need" (which is me quoting out of my head, so it's probably not literally correct. But then again, Marx wrote in German anyway...).
Wikipedia is not an authoritative source on anything.
The only possible definition of a word such as socialism is the common ground of those who consider themselves to be socialists. The USSR does not exist today, so its official oppinion of itsef is irelevant. The vast ajority of socialists (some 50% of the population of Europe, if you go by general elections) today do not consider the USSR (or the PRC) to be/have been a socialist country. Go read the potiltical platform of an actual socialist party with an electoral base to speak of and see for your self how they define themselves.
Seriously, when public outrcy results in change, that is grass-root democracy at work.
This is what happens when the formal democratic institutions (and here, I count the officially informal press as formal) start working against the people. In this respect, the Linux/Free/Open communities are no different than other modern political/social movements, like the environmental or anti-globalisation movements etc, just different values and ethics...
I can't speak for the other continents, but as for Europe, we don't hate you for reinventing the republic (do you, honestly, think that the people of Europe actually enjoyed being opressed by their governments? Do you think the French revolution was just for fun?).
What we do hate you for is, that when we did learn from your example and introduced proper parliamentary democracy, freedom of speach etc., you turned the tables on us and became an endlessly more arrogant colonial opressor than we ever were! That is what pisses us off.
We don't envy your success - we are inspired by it. But if, when we try to emulate your success, you attempt to force Coca-Cola down our throat, we will revolt! You see, it all boils down to each individual's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (does any of those words ring any bells with you..?).
And finally, has it ever occured to you that, if everyone didn't hate you (for, more or less, well founded reasons), things like 9-11, USS Cole, ebassy bombings, etc. wouldn't happen in the first place..?
You're not entirely correct. Most people who do short trades would be using derrivatives, like options, futures or CFD:s, or even spread betting. With all these, you only pay a margin (10-15%) of the value of the trade up front.
Say (for the ease of calculation) SCOX was quoted at $25 when you enter the deal. You enter into 1000 short contracts for difference (CFD) with a 10% margin - that's $2500. When the contracts mature, SCOX is quoted at $5. Difference is $20 x 1000 = $20000. Plus, you get the $2500 margin back (since you're in the money), minus commission and interest (on the $25000 the shares were initially worth). Anyway, ROI is allot higher than 200% (just below 900% in this example, depending on commission and interest)
And now that I've written this explanation, I see your last line. Clarification: all trades where you, in effect, sell securities you don't own (or promise to sell securities you don't yet own) are short trades, be it with advanced synthetic derrivatives or just pain old stock borrowing...

Nothing new, move along...

I'm just waiting for someone to take the bait and invoke Godwin's law... ;-)
'Nuff said!
In other news, beer, especially the dark English varieties, can prevent or inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Time for a reality check!

...is a contradiction in itself ;-)
...just as there is no such thing as a GM Ford.
End Of Story.
That's a Norwegian (or possibly Danish) "404 File Not Found"
"A lot" is two words.
No, it isn't. And it's spelled "allot". English spelling doesn't make sense, never has and never will, so stop trying to make it...

Again, I don't see how this is "inseparable" and from what.
If M$ says it is, it damn well is - to you, the user.
You should be able to specify when you create a filesystem what type of optional data you want indexed, if any.
Hello! This is M$ we are talking about!
You should be able to do allot of things with Windows, that you can't...
Atleast, these are just my 2c...
Nice indeed! We've got unionised labour too, and public healthcare, and free Viagra...
What, the British ot the American..? ;-)
...Ha! Gottcha!!! ;-)
But tell me, Mr Andersen, what good is a phone call if you are unable to speak..?
