    In the US if a vendor sends you an unrequested product you are allowed to keep it. The law is to protect people from bogus sales scams. No idea what the law is in the EU though.

    AT&T wants the federal government to protect them from Google, postponing the rollout for a decade or two. The FCC is a wholly owned subsidiary at this point. The city of Austin has other plans. They want their Google Fiber NOW and have the example of Overland Park to show what happens when you drag your feet.

    Google doesn't need to be a phone company under federal law to provide gigabit fiber to Austin, TX. This is a local matter, and it appears the local government is handling it just fine.

    There is a regular email app and it can read your gmail as well as all the other services, and it is integrated into the OS with notifications &c. It can access Exchange servers and do push email. There are also several hundred third party email apps.

    Do you have any idea how hard it is to teach students chemistry without teaching them how to make bombs or drugs? I have a current college text and a high school one from 1950. Guess which one has more practical chemistry in it.

    You forgot near zero idle power draw, exceedingly low active power draw for mobile applications. For some, that is the killer feature and fast is just "nice to have".
