    The trouble with a spaceplane is its inefficiency.

    Spoken like a true Nasa zealot. It took the guys at Scaled composites to show you that they could build a cheap light, ingenious low-earth-orbit vehicle and launch it cheaply from its mother plane.

    Sadly, it seems that once again it will take private venture to show us that a highly efficient fully fledged orbital insertion space plane is doable, and at a much cheaper cost than anything Nasa could come up with.

    And less complex than the space shuttle??? The space shuttle may be complex but it's just a big rocket propelled glider. Space Ship One utilises a far more complex design princple. It does much much more with far less..

    Be carefull. Rutan and Scaled Composites are better than Nasa because they are cheaper, no government intervention to screw everything up.

    I think rutan would be making a mistake getting in bed with anything that is even remotely government sponsored. He should keep working on private ventures. et la Virgin etc.

    But seriously, anything that features Scaled Compoites ought to be way ahead of the competition in terms of cost, and superior design. Although I have to admit their earth-to-low-earth-orbit vehicle will never be as sexy looking as Space Ship 1 - the nicest looking craft man ghas ever built in my view

    ehhh,

    I think they needed that money to support the development of Kazaa in the first place. So it's a trade-off between adware and a good product vs. a good product

    OR

    no adware and a mediocre product vs. a good product.

    What would you chose. Anyway, at one point Kazaa was easily one of if not the best p2p app. out there.

    Amazon use Linux and no doubt have *very*
    compentent Linux people on the staff,
    which do you think they would like to see ?
    I agre but how about this.

    Make the unstable kernel bugs public and then ONLY after these bugs are fixed publically, allow private fixing of bugs in the stable kernel.

    I'm not sure though. If in doubt, should we not just keep ALL bugs public???

    What bout this: a) all [unstable development kernel e.g 2.6.1] bugs get published "public" - each and every person can snoop around and either help fix it - or instead try to exploit it (even moreso, keep on exploiting it on "unpatched" systems long time after) But, keep [stable kernels] private.

    As long as it is ALWAYS mirrored and PUBLIC. I do,nt agree with their idea to make encrypted bug reports preferable, digitally signed maybe but not encrypted. I can totally understand why Linus would be against it.

    This is where a craft uses the planets atmosphere to dramatically reduce speed using friction. Its actually been used for decade but never on this large a scale..!! Later on

    2. Slowing down sufficiently with a Mars based system similar to the one on earth.

    OR

    3. A series of mirors which are swung into position at the right time to begin deceleration which reflect the light onto a surface pointing the opposite direction from source of beams..
