They realized IBM is ignoring them. So now they will turn to a few vendors (Suse and Red Hat). I fck'n hate people who do nothing but sue sue sue.
I wish a higher power could see this and shut them the hell up.
I would really like to see documentation on this "offending code" to prove that it was theirs.
Otherwise, how do we really know who added it and when? What if it was pre Sys V code? What if the code came from Linux in the first place?
I have heard that the comments were the same, but who made the comments? Is there a name? Does he/she work for SCO?
Lot's of questions... no answers.

Novell makes great stuff that nobody else can seem to do correctly.
What do you suggest we use? MS/Exchange... I prefer Netware/Groupwise.
So... You sit down and shutup.
Do they not see how bad this is going to be for online stores? Not paying tax is a HUGE reason why people buy online. Not only is it cheaper in some cases, it just feels good not to give money to the man.
They tax you when you earn it, they tax you when you spend it. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I think the ability to eject the tape and take it home is "Tape backup's" only good thing. If your ISP offers co-location at a discount when you purchase a T1, store your backup box there.
Those have been mentioned already.
I would love for someone to report Cisco, Linksys, Netgear, MS, SMC, 3Com, HP of violating this act by:..."assemble, develop, manufacture, possess, deliver, offer to deliver, or advertise any device or software that conceals the existence or place of origin or destination of any telecommunications service."
Let those companies with the deep pockets pay to have this shit over turned. Cause the average Joe like me cannot afford to fight every god damn DMCA battle that arises.
yeah...
The thing is, as soon as a bunch of geeks start bustn' caps at to po-po they will say that the plan is working just as they wanted it to. Bringing the terrorist out of the woodwork.
But I do agree with you.
Here in the US you could spend your entire life fighting bullshit. I for one will not devote my life to fighting against stupid ass congressmen/law makers who are only out for their own interest.
I will still continue to complain so those who choose to fight this crap can.
"Don't blame me, I didn't vote."
Last time I checked the terrorist were from Afganistan?
This is just like the gun rights battle that is going on. They make the laws so the honest people can't get guns. But the criminals can get them anytime from the same place they have always got them... BLACK MARKET! Or they flat out steal them! No murderer is going to Wal-mart to buy his weapon.
This will be a good jump point at best. Linux has made such a strong push the last couple years that I would venture to say that the RHSE rush will rival the MCSE rush. Everyone I talk to has a damn MCSE but no job. Mainly because the big layoffs, and lack of experience. You need more than certs, you need experience dealing with the b0x that abends, the user that can't connect, the SAMBA box that won't start because you left the damn RH updater on...
But I am just a new/. user trying to kill time...
I tell you what "we" should do. If your employed, go apply for a bunch of different jobs. See how many you can get that say they want to run a credit check up front. Then tell every single one of them to goto hell. Maybe we can start some sort of tidal wave, be on CNN or something.:-)
or Time Warner ...

I wonder how valid this is:
eWeek
"SCO insider says SCO used Linux code in V"
I've already had an account with them an canceled. It works just fine, but I don't like subscription services.

Thanks for all the replies guys. The DLink solution looks really cool.

I have also lost very few Maxtors. Out of about 200, I may have lost 3. Try not throwing them around ... or something.
Won't buy anything from Cisco ... Wait, I don't buy their crap now, it's too slow!
(speaking of LAN switches and stuff)
Yeah but as soon as we try to assemble we will be terrorist. Instead of REAL PATRIOTS.

Cause I would love to make the call accusing major corps in MI of violating this crap law.
