And the people who created all this content got paid how exactly?
Nice try AC, but they get paid for this content because with the increased sharing, people are exposed to much more new music than they normally would (think P2P effect on speed), and therefore find more bands they like and want to support. Thus, they end up going to see more live shows, and purchasing more merchandise.
For the bands that are smart enough to go with a label that supports sharing, or are Indie, they will thrive because thats where the majority of their income came from in the past and this would amplify that. Remember, traditionally bands really make their money touring, not from music sales which the labels gouge them on.
Whenever I hear about crap DRM like this, it really makes me wonder what kind of technological world we'd live in if we didn't have these restrictions. We'd probably have fully wireless players that could play any format we wanted and could stream songs to anybody around us using a P2P streaming format to distribute the bandwidth/battery power. There would probably be a lot more diverse music going around as well. One can only wonder...
The only upside is that they will get watches as a fashion accessory. I really don't think that Fossil qualifies. If it looked fashionable, metal with decent gold or silver plating, then maybe it would have had a better chance.
And thats why these gadgets, however cool from a technical standpoint, never catch on. People don't want to replace their expensive, high-quality, extremely fashionable watch for the modern day equivelant of the calculator watch. Now, if major watch manufacturers managed to package these features into something as sexy as say...an iPod, which is one of the few mainstream gadgets that has become a "fashion" accessory, it might have a fighting chance. The thing is, you cannot design the form around the function with mainstream fashion accessories. The function must be embedded seamlessly into the form.
Customer support?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Have you ever tried calling their customer support? I guarantee that there are not massive costs for it. Bandwidth and server stuff I could understand, but not customer support. Or game updates. There are very few of those, and the biggest ones they repackage and sell as an expansion.
For those of us who are not knowledgeable of chemistry, can you please explain the reaction that would take place with the alkali metals? Its too early to try to remember 9th grade science class. And just out of curiosity, why would you need a glass of water? Why not just go to the bathroom and toss it in the sink?
Just out of curiosity...how hard is it to emigrate to Sweden? How do they view Americans there? And what kind of job market awaits those of us who do not speak the language?
I honestly thought you were making a funny comment with a bunch of technobabble, but holy hell that thing actually exists! Where the hell do they come up with all these terms!
I guess what really astounded me was when on the most recent visit (his wife's kid's from another marriage had his 19th birthday) , with about 14 other people in the computer room (den) he wips his pecker out and starts urinating into a two liter pepsi bottle he recently drank.
I'm sorry, but after reading that part I have to call BS. Did not a single person say anything? Any normal person would have gone batshit over this. Why did you not confront him about his problem then and there?
And it still disgusts me that they have the balls to charge for the game itself. If they want me to pay $15/mo to play their game, it had damn sure better be free to download. They MORE than recoup their costs. Bloody leeches.
You know, it really makes you wonder what sort of discoveries we miss out on because we take so much care to preserve the past. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we SHOULDN'T do that...I'm just saying that this is a perfect example of the sorts of spectacular discoveries we make when we break things a little. I know we have scanners that are getting pretty powerful these days...do we have any that can detect this sort of soft tissue beneath the bone? If so I think they should be standard equipment on any paleontological dig.
And if you did, it might falsely accuse you of being a fraudulent user and then you mearly need to straighten things out.
Because we all know that the process of straightening things out when you've been flagged as a fraudster is always a quick and easy process that works 100% of the time.
No no. This is just why you never make a character with more than 4 strength; it's just a waste. The suit gives you plenty to hold the largest weapons with no penalties and lets you put points into the far more valuable int and agi.
And I speak from experience when I say you are utterly hosed when the power supply fails and your 4 strength gives you just enough penalties to prevent you from being strong enough to manually release yourself from the powersuit, thus creating a slightly squirming, very expensive mechanical statue.
I'm wondering why some bank doesn't step in and offer a viable PayPal competitor? They have the knowledge and the resources to create one, and they have the funds to provide the safety nets and bank-required measures that an only PayPal-type service should be force to have. What barriers are in the way of this?
While IANAL it would seem that that statement does not in any way indicate they will debit it sooner than 5 days and as such you might have legal action against them for the resulting additional fees it caused from them doing it sooner.
I did that because it's what I'm supposed to do. This is how it's supposed to work.
While this is true, unfortunately as email continues to become ever more pervasive, less and less people it seems will be willing to make the effort to actually hand write a letter. If only emailing your representatives was anywhere near as effective as a hand-written letter.
I've decided to climb a clock tower and take out half my hometown with a sniper rifle. I never would've done this if Jack Thompson didn't do what he does. As such, he is completely responsible for the deaths I cause.
For a second there I didn't see your post subject and I thought to myself, "What the hell game was this guy playing where he thought that was a good sniper position?" I mean, yeah its high...but the second one person goes down thats the first place your entire team is going to be directing their fire. The best spot is hidden under a bush or vehicle or in the shadows of a building somewhere.

I ran into a brick wall...I'm suing the makers of T.R.O.N.
And I am suing as well...thanks to those jackasses I came to believe that you could turn a bike at a right angle going 80 mph and it would be fine. Its their fault they did not inform me about the consequences and realities of inertia and kinetic energy!
Since you seem to be knowledgeable on this topic...I have a question for you.
If they're talking about using this for identifying fraudulent users...how much would changing news/services on the internet affect that? I can think of several news items and new services that instantaneously and permanently caused me to alter my browsing and internet using habits. Wouldn't those sorts of behavior altering agents increase false positives?
Please bear in mind I have absolutely zero background in this kind of stuff;)
I'm getting bored with you now. You are correct that you can post whatever you want to Slashdot, but that doesn't mean you should. Your original post was completely unrelated to the topic or my initial post so you are completely off there. I am hostile towards you because you quite obviously need psychological help, but in the meantime you persist in spamming Slashdot with your website that nobody cares about or wants to see. I'm shocked you haven't been modded troll/off-topic yet but the mods probably don't feel your poor excuse of a crackpot theory is worth the mod points. Get lost and remember, I will come and find you and the government and I will put an end to you once and for all. Remember, we are ALWAYS watching you. ALWAYS! BOO!

It double-plus works and I got rich just by spamming this link on sites like this one!

Or worse...

Thanks for answering my question though!
