I know some of you are having a tough time with the miles-per-gallon or kilometers-per-liter measurement, so I've taken the liberty of converting this to a useful measurement we can all relate to.

Simply put, 483km/1L is 1.2425 x 10^-6 earth-moon distances per cubic centimeter of fuel. I think that puts in it perspective

esri products blow intergraph out of the water. ArcIMS is far superior that geomedia webmap, giving you much more control over the data. webmap is more for viewing data, arcims is for manipulation and dynamic queries and such.

The Esri shapefile format is pretty much the standard.

The whole purpose of this car is to deter other car thefts from happening. Once word gets out on the street that if you steal a car, the car may turn you in. Would be thiefs will think twice about stealing a car.

now that the police have put this fear of being caught into thier heads, car thefts will drop (and car insurance will drop). the police can now concentrate on other crimes.

the next car they don't steal may be yours.

  10. Re:[OT] Q3 windows disc in Linux on Quake 3: Arena SDK--RELEASED!! · · Score: 2
If you read John Carmack's .plan from 11/17/99, he notes this and says that:
THE EXECUTABLES FOR ALL PLATFORMS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS. This means that if you want to play on the mac or linux, don't pick up a copy of the pc version and expect to download the other executables.
    and his reasoning is:
We are doing this at the request of the distributors. The fear is that everyone will just grab a windows version, and the separate boxes will be ignored. A lot of companies are going to be watching the sales figures for the mac and linux versions of Q3 to see if the platforms are actually worth supporting. If everyone bought a windows version and the other boxes sold like crap in comparison, that would be plenty of evidence for most executives to can any cross platform development.
I think that is a very cool reason, it will help to push Linux more into the gaming mainstream. And this directly refer's to your message/problem/comment.
I know there are a lot of people that play in both windows and linux, and this may be a bit of an inconvenience in the short term, but this is an ideal time to cast a vote as a consumer.

can you prove that this "theory" of God exists? please, don't say to me "it is all around us, everything you see is the handiwork of God" because I can easily reply with: "No, it's the handiwork of evolution, each species doing what is neccessary for it's own survival and genetic transferrence"

Religion was invented to explain to simple man in simple terms what he could not understand. we have since proven that the earth is flat. we cannot stop there.
