So the government(s) "no rikey" encryption hiding user use from them? Windows 10 will take care of that for them. Er... has already taken care of that for them.

Weaponized = removed. Why haven't the terrorists done that yet? Blow all of those VLF RF emission devices to pieces and they'll scare and harm Humans until their deity is appeased enough to give them enough virgins to last about two and a half months! That's right, one a day for almost two and a half months! Get your terror on today! Psh.
How do we know it is not evolution and survival of the fittest? Maybe all of the stupid bugs have been weaned out of the gene pool over the years and now they can't catch the ones smart enough to avoid the traps.
Lunacy, I tell ta. We have never been educated, ever, about adaptation and evolutionary behavioral changes. Those eagles that learned how to drop bones on the top of a mountain to crack them open to get at the marrow inside, leaving smooth eroded areas of rock after millions of drops? BS. Even though we watch it happening, it's not true. It just doesn't happen and doesn't work that way. All animals other than Humans just repeat the same thing over and over and never, EVER adapt! </humor>;)
Here in the US the only place there are bees are where people are actively putting effort into their hives. Still there are very few bees flying around when you approach the hives here in CA US.
Is it too mean to say "You got what you asked for" to people?
Hey, the crop-harming insect count is reduced. "It has absolutely no effect on the food chain whatsoever, other than an increase of crops as food," says the chemical company.
Cell phones cause tunnel vision. Tunnel vision causes lack of thought. lack of thought causes global warming. Global warming causes insect increases. Insect increases increase predator food levels. Increased predator food levels increase populations counts of predators. Increased level of predators increases need for food from said predators. Increased need for food causes increase in ingestion. Increase in ingestion causes declination of populations of prey.
--
Decreased levels of food for prey decreases population counts of predators. Decrease of population of predators increases survival rate of prey. Increase in survival rate of prey leads to ^^ repeat. Over and over and over and over (repeat hundreds of millions of times).
Okay, okay, I had to throw global warming in as a cause just because it's popular these days. Also, the cause of global warming was mentioned as a humorous causation element.:)
Wait, wait. I should make mention of the Butterfly Effect, given the mention in the summary of the article.
Doesn't really matter that they talk to their professors....
The problem is that they are writing papers like this. And communicating to potential employers like this. There's an entire generation if kiddiespeaking illiterate sons of bitches that can't figure out why their attempts to get meaningful employment go unanswered.
I know a University professor and she told me (red face every time) how much she freakin' flunked every written paper that came over her desk with "U" "2" "4" "ic" and "uno" on them. Those are just the phrases she spat out at the time that I remember as im typng ths stuf.
The old phones with ancient and T9 text input aren't a mass thing anymore. Evolve with the changes around you, ppl.
Everyone here knows that this is the beginning of having no control over your device at all. As time goes on, ONLY certified devices will be able to use popular services. Ads will become completely unblockable. Having root will eventually arouse as much suspicion as owning lockpicks.
You're correct. History repeats.
Consumers will hack, consumers will boycott, consumers will steal. One company(tm) will offer something the others don't. They'll get the majority of market share. The other companies will cave. I think they pre-thought this all out and aren't bothering with it up front. Windows 10 is questionable, but that's a different beast, different topic.
What those that disregard authority learn is that they are being given warnings about bad things that are coming later in life. Could be a day, could be years. An intelligent young'un learns to filter out overloaded emotion and pull facts from what they hear, using them as variables in upcoming decisions.
Oh, wait, anyone young enough for that to apply to lost attention to what I wrote after the first sentence, if they made it that far.
Sadly we have had educators claiming what "you" want is all that matters, to the detriment of millions of students.
I don't blame the instructors for that. I blame the parents. If parents don't expect their children to behave, the children will have no expectations to follow. I grew up in a household that children were expect to be seen than heard or else the belt came out. Teachers always marveled how quiet and polite I was.
Parents aren't allowed to use the belt anymore unless they want to do a lot of time in the county jail.
Kids nowadays are allowed to make their own rules and learn from a swath of mistakes that hit them in waves. When the wave passes, they feel invincible again; repeat.
...Didn't they integrate some browser into an earlier version of their operating system at some point in the past, and get sued over it?
I wonder what happens if you integrate a running virtualized piece of software, loaded "into the OS" at all times, to remove the conceptual difference between "normal" and "excessive" power usage...?
Oh, and they just set the "new official industry standard for battery usage measurement"; one you must comply with in order to have their "certification".
In these days of shifting from "Cable is King" to Cord Cutters... well, as far as I know, they did get the cable companies to put emergency interrupt capability in every fucking channel. But it's a bit hard to do that with Netflix, or even an https request.
And the problem with disaster emergencies is that they are so infrequent that the mindless masses have no clue what to do, because it hasn't happened since the last Oscars, and that's as far as they can remember before their ADD kicks in and they start wondering what all the gossip page celebrities are doing.
To make it worse, now mostly mundane stuff has become an "ALERT!!!!!111!!!", which contributes to giving everyone alert fatigue, and when something real happens, they don't even know if they are supposed to care. But a siren going off while they're trying to sleep? In the land of people calling 9-1-1 because their fast food isn't fast enough?
It doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't be at all phased if I found out that 90% of the younger generation has to get dressed and go out to their car to get access to a radio with broadcast receive capability. No, I'm not joking.
The Fukushima disaster was precipitated by the earthquake and tsunami, but it was cost-cutting measures that really are to blame. Human error is really to blame in all of these.
Amen, and people tend to forget that lessons are learned from errors/mistakes. That's HOW WE LEARN.
It's quite disappointing to our intelligence as a species that we act like others - stop progressing in an area where we are learning about all of the faults and weaknesses so they won't occur again. Why? Because we're scared that they will. It always seems best to "back out" at the best time to innovate and progress.
Its so dead in China they only have 21 new ones under construction. Plus the new one in the UK under construction with plans for more. Plus the rest under construction in Europe (Germany is slowly going over to renewables though).
That explains it. So THAT is why we want to dirty our relations with the EU!
A nuclear plant in Alabama shut down, you won't believe what happened next!
Unemployment rates increased. It was the start of the butterfly effect that lead to the downfall of the world economy. Wait, how am I reading an article from 50 years in the future? *disappears*
A study in Ohio shows that the increased use of renewable energy sources results in the increase in muscle size in newborns as well as lighter hair color. The study says it! What?/humor

The harder they try, the harder they'll fail. History repeats itself and will continue to do so ad infinitum.

I like the repeated mention of "almost" and "regionally". That leads to questions of adaptation, let alone improper or lazy methods of observation.

In Dallas, 99% of our sirens are for tornados. Get to your bathroom or closet. We test our sirens on the first Saturday of each month at noon.
Don't forget to call 911 on the way to the closet to let them know you're safe and not to worry about you.
