Sorry, maybe my comment was not clear. I meant that in chess computers already can compete with and beat humans. In all other sports like football, baseball etc. it may be possible now in the next few years.
You can propose all the anti-spam laws you want. But if you keep it restricted to one country, you won't go very far. Spammers will use other locations to send their spam from. So it only works if you have an international law.
I really don't think the fact that the star isn't a perfect sphere is surprising. The fact that we can measure it is a breakthrough. If we look at the sun, we can see that isn't a perfect sphere. It's not very much an ellipsoid either, but you could imagine a star (much younger) that spins very fast and is more like an ellipsoid.
Even Jupiter (and also the earth!) are somewhat flattened.
I have tried to use wine a few times in the past. And it took too much time to set up the emulator. And when it worked finally, most of my windows programs used functions that wine couldn't handle yet. Because Windows keeps changing, it will be difficult to catch with the changes every time.
Here in the Netherlands we have broadband companies that also have downloadlimits. And they will charge you a lot if you exceed that limit. But, luckily, there are a lot of other broadband possibilities that use fair use policy.
It seems although the two american rovers launch more than two weeks apart, they arrive within a day. So why didn't they launch them both at the most favorable day? Wouldn't that be cheaper?
This all doesn't mean that there is too much free software. I think it is very good that people are developing new software. Linux could chose specific well-working software from all this free software and build a good system. I thought that's what a linux-distribution usually does. Still, free software must be available, maybe with a rating system.
I wonder if this has anything to do with how old a plant will become. Maybe if they can control its biological clock, they can extend the days of that plant.
I agree with you that live music is far more important for the performers. A CD is nice, but you really show what you can and what your is like, when you perform it in front of an audience. People want to go to concerts and they want to pay for it. And I think, as a band, a singer or a musician, you should do more than just record CD's. Work for your money!
When you give a lot of CD's to someone when he is buying a car, isn't that unfair competition? Or is the buyer of the car free in his choice of music? Lately I heard stories about a major operating system developer that gave you a internetbrowser for free when you bought their product. What about that?
There are more applications for harddrives. By letting the heads flow freely on the harddisk and look at the data it sees, you can measure your acceleration.

The site is reachable again. They fixed it quite fast!
Maybe we could see the first robots competing in sports (except for chess) in the next few years?
So you can still get that money they promise you, even if you don't reply to their mails!
Is that $1000 per message, or $1000 per message times the number of users it is sent to?
Anyways, it will be a huge amount of money if they catch a spammer and I doubt if the spammer has that much...

So what will be the next discovery? The intergalactic frisbee?

You mean BSOD!
Thank you very much! Have a nice day!
On the other hand, they did use a Linux console in the Matrix....
What does that mean?
You mean BSOD!
this has nothing to do with the subject!

Maybe if they send a Volkswagen it would be worth a newsstory!

What are those problems then? I never had problems with PayPal.
