I work as a Tech at a rather large highschool, and starting this year we have preloaded Firefox on all new issued laptops. every year I have worked here the vast majority of problems we deal with are spyware or virus based. (duh) and i have to say, now that we have switched, the total number of spyware related problems we have to deal with has dropped to half a dozen people a week (as compared to 10-20 a day) anyway, just my $0.02
now i will freely admit that i didnt RTFA but dont you think that paypal is getting more crud than they deserve? not a single person i have ever met has had a problem with paypal, and my own experience has been quite painless. mod me down if you wish, but thats the way i see it.
this makes sense seeing as ebays only question is "did you get anything" not did you get what you ordered. did you get anything. stinks for the guy who buys a car, and gets sent a paperclip. not sure how they would pay for the returns though, seems like that would be far more than they belive, most sales on ebay are broken/defective in some way.
just my $0.02
i might be wrong, but arnt people saying were in the middle of an ice age right now and the only thing keeping it check is the amount of CO2 being produced. anyone?
i am always confused that you can download kazaa off of kazaa. dosnt that seem like a chikcen and egg kind of thing? either way, i hope this just goes away, theres been too much press about court cases that never go anywhere. i know i know, mod me down troll etc.
however it does have a tendency to catch fire, at least that would explain why ive gone through three microwaves in as many years, and puddles of melted plastic are a bitch to clean up.
well if the income was from donations, all they need to do is to rename themselves as a non profit orginization and rely entirely on dontations to fund their good works.
makes you wonder. they issuse a patch so quickly that you must wonder, do they really work that fast? or was the problem so simple that it was easy to fix? not that getting a patch out quickly is bad, mind you, its just that you hope quality dosnt suffer. all we need is a patch for the bugs in the last three patches.
i know im probably going to get pounded for saying this, but you think that microsoft would test for things like this before release. i know that they must do lots of testing, but still. not everything can be fixed by a patch two or three weeks later.
my eyes, my eyes are burning! is paul thurrott on the MS payrole? that site is a lovefest! i can feel my iq dropping, everythings going black... tell my folks... to use linux.. guhk.
imagine if solairs was redesigend to be modudular, think of how much work that would save. now i will be the first to admit i dont have much knowledge of solairs, however i have used it, and help my programming buddies use it. we all agree that modular is the way to go.
keeping things in control is all well and good, but where do you draw the line? next are you going to keep tabs on what is on each persons screen? i dont know about you, but i sometimes might actually feel the urge to check my personal email during the day, and having people look at my personal things with out me ever knowing about it is rather disturbing.
i dont understand what the big deal over this is. all your doing is handing your computer over to peoples unknow, and they can be trusted to not wreak havoc with your machine. cant they?

problem is, where could you find a reporter who would care? "microsoft messed up again? ho hum. ooo look, congrssional scandal! yay!" right
microdots. they are going to put all the code into microdots, and then "lose" the microscope
right. ill belive this when i see it. untill then i will regard this like everything else that sco has done, a vague answer to a direct question.
