I sure seems to me that ibm gets screwed over a lot I would sure apriciate someone helping me out on identifying all of the times it has happend because frankly I havent been around that long:). but they got screwed on DOS licensing, OS/2, their proprietary bioses and the "clean room" aproach . . . what else was there?
exept the fact that it doesnt really matter all that much you get nominal performance gains with increases in buss speed. Im not a rockt scientist but I "think" the reason this is news is because x86-64 seems forgin to some people even though its a hacked up version of x86.
oh well I have no doubt that there are people in the goverment that know what they are doing. but I was gearing my coments to the decision makers it never seems like they are on the same page as the computer industry. Personaly I think that our goverment should hire outside companys to do handle their IT and information services so they dont have to. the problem with goverment jobs is most of them dont set any real standards on the amount of work people do. but I would love to see someone prove me wrong
I thought that to be an expecialy nice touch:)
of course you could use this oportunity to assassinate the object of your anger and fear. If your as lazy as me thought I would sugest working at a fast food restraunt they are easy and dont require much thinking. then again microsoft might be the same way!:)
really what else would they take from your computer? user activity? the amount of files you have? that e-mail you sent about not having a life? do you really care? what do you have on your computer that you dont want ms to know about? there isnt a utility in windows to help you keep track of your check book bank acounts, check book or credit card numbers. so what does it matteR! even if they got everything off your computer would they have anything worth looking at?
what somoene did something that microsoft doesnt like big supprise. now my take on this is that it will ruin microsofts plan to charge senders for e-mail see the penny black project.

basicly what this says is that ms wants to charge people for e-mail. with that project allready going this means microsoft is invested and this bill will kill it for the most part. because their big target for it is spam.
unless if your more like me and dont really have loyalty to anything:). I can see where your coming from. It just seems to me like he is the kind of person that would try to rise above basic instincts and give it an honest review. I might think his opinion is biased if I knew he worked on their chips as of now I don't think he does.
but what does it matter itanium is part of a totaly difrent market than what itanium is targed at
Itanium = overpiced servers and poor software compatablility
transmeta = small cheap cool long runing laptops
Good lord who cares about bill gates he makes continualy buggy software in a company tring to take over the world. there are other more interesting companys out there . . .
it has been rumoured that intel has x86-64 code biult into their processor. assuming that is ture they are in a pretty good spot right now so why should the give a rats A** what AMD is doing at the moment. but an even better question why do people still hold so much merit in intel when their processors do so poorly clock for clock? I think that if the tables where turned everyone would still love intel
the recording industry needs to keep making bigger and bigger returns every year on their investments. If they dont they need to find out what the problem is p2p sharing/warez is just a scape goat for the recording industry, so they dont have to change their ideals, just destroy someone elses.
I personaly think it is very convenient for me to have to put a cd in just because I want to listen to one song (yea right!)
card board box wouldnt do too bad considering he used wood to help mount the drives :)
and then he could have wrapped it in foam rubber because they where "loud" hehe :)

*sniffle* looks like its back to soldering on difrent crystals

thats nice but we need people that know how to use compouters in goverment first :)

didnt he develop mp support for linux because transmeta used them to help develop their chip? have some information to clarify exactly what he does?
but what does it matter itanium is part of a totaly difrent market than what itanium is targed at Itanium = overpiced servers and poor software compatablility transmeta = small cheap cool long runing laptops
whats this we crap how many nerds use windows?
the fact that linus works for a chip maker doesnt really matter because he dosn't develop the chips. he gets paid there to develop the linux kernel.
